09/11/2023
I doubt if any of us willl ever forget what happened on 9/11. Where we were, who we were with, what we were doing…. It was a terrible day for our nation and so very many families that lost loved ones, both physically gone, and psychologically gone. Too many times we forget the survivors, rescue workers, those who feel they “should have been there” for one reason or another, those that feel guilty because they weren’t quite in the buildings ( or on the plane on time, or couldn’t get to work at the station). The feelings of guilt and inadequacies they may have can be just as bad as if they had died that day as well. So please, don’t forget to give them comfort and especially today, if you can, perhaps just reach out and talk to them, don’t text, because some days another person’s voice may be the only thing that saves you. Right?
Be blessed, be kind, and please remember that just because someone bears the same color of skin, wears the same traditional style of clothing, or practices the same religion, does not make them guilty! It does not make them one of the enemy! Do not harm anyone because of what you feel, or what has happened to our nation in the past. Get the facts, listen to those who are truly in the positions to tell us what is going on and how you can help. And today, lock away weapons and anger, rather keep your focus on those who need your compassion, love, a shoulder, or just your presence, your voice, your thoughts.
And above everything, thank you for your service, your efforts, and your losses. You are in my thoughts and in my heart.
We Remember
