☀️🍎 ¿Cómo funciona SUN Bucks en Iowa este verano?

Muchas familias en Iowa podrían recibir ayuda para comprar comida este verano a través del programa federal SUN Bucks (Summer EBT). Aquí te explicamos lo más importante 👇

💳 ¿Qué es SUN Bucks?
Es un beneficio de verano que ayuda a familias con niños escolares a comprar alimentos cuando ya no hay comidas gratis en las escuelas durante vacaciones.

✅ El beneficio es de:
$120 por cada niño elegible

Ese dinero se carga en una tarjeta EBT y puede usarse en supermercados, tiendas participantes y algunos farmers markets.

👧 ¿Quiénes califican automáticamente?
Muchos niños NO necesitan aplicar si:
• La familia recibe SNAP o FIP
• Reciben Medicaid con ingresos elegibles
• El niño recibe comidas gratis o reducidas en la escuela
• Está en foster care
• O la escuela participa en el programa nacional de lunch escolar

📬 ¿Cómo llega el beneficio?
• Si ya tienes SNAP → el dinero llegará a tu tarjeta EBT actual
• Si no tienes SNAP → recibirás una tarjeta SUN Bucks por correo para cada niño elegible

🗓️ ¿Cuándo llegan los beneficios?
El estado comenzará a enviar beneficios automáticos a partir de la próxima semana.

📝 ¿Y si no calificas automáticamente?
Algunas familias sí tendrán que llenar una aplicación.

⚠️ IMPORTANTE:
Los beneficios expiran después de 122 días, así que es importante usarlos a tiempo.
