A huge thank you to Derry’s Public Works Department for clearing a fallen tree from the trail at Broadview Farm Conservation Area!

The DPW team was able to cut up the tree and leave the wood right where it fell, allowing it to become valuable habitat for wildlife. They also used the opportunity to train some of their less experienced staff in safe chainsaw operation—at a location without buildings or overhead electric lines to worry about.

Talk about a win-win! 🌲

Behind every well-maintained trail is a group of dedicated volunteers. The Derry NH Conservation and Greater Derry Track Club have put in the work to help shape Corneliusen Farm; check out our newly released video on their clean-up efforts!

Recently, the Derry NH Conservation, NH Association of Conservation Commissions, and Moosewood Ecological hosted a BioBlitz at the Broadview Farm Conservation Area. This species scavenger hunt aimed to capture a snapshot of local biodiversity. By the halfway mark, participants successfully identified over 200 different species of plants, insects, and wildlife! Thank you to everyone who helped explore and document our local environment! Follow us for more highlights!

Tonight we enjoyed the beginnings of a gorgeous sunset over the feild at the Ball Farm property--the newest property acquisition by the Derry Conservation Commission.

We were there doing a trail assessment, so we can dive into our next trail work event next Saturday July 18th.

Would you like to lend a hand maintaining Derry's wonderful wooded trails? We'd love to have you! Message us for details.

This will connect to the trail work completed last year at the Corneliusen property. Take a drive to the end of Holiday Ave, and you will see the trailhead. Enjoy a liesurely walk through the beautiful woods. 🌲🙂🌳
