The landfill Solar project went live this month! The project produces enough electricity to cover all town municipal sites. At no cost to taxpayers, the site was built and will be run and owned by a third party, Encore. Encore will sell electricity at a fixed price to the town at 6.5 cents/kwh - compare that to your residential rate from Eversource of around 14 cents/kwh - big savings for the Town - $5-10M over the project life!!

Plug-In Solar Coming in the near future supported via recent NH legislation (SB 540). Some further work to be done, especially around standards (UL 3700) but expect product roll-outs within the next year.

Derry’s Landfill Solar project expected to be on-line next month. Saving the town $5-10M over the life of the project.

The United States now has hundreds of installations on closed landfills, though the remaining sites may be limited by shifting federal policy, remediation costs and geography.
