Willie Joyce
Willie is a 47‑year‑old resident of DeRidder, Louisiana, born in Longville in 1987. He grew up in a loving two‑parent household as the youngest of three children. The strong foundation his parents provided continues to shape the responsible, hardworking man he is today.
Willie’s early school years began in Longville. He later attended South Beauregard Elementary, DeRidder Middle School, and DeRidder High School, where he earned his Certificate of Completion. He enjoyed school, took pride in maintaining A’s and B’s, and was well‑liked by both teachers and classmates. Two accomplishments he often reflects on with pride are his strong academic performance and earning his driver’s license—milestones that held great personal meaning for him.
Today, Willie lives independently in his own apartment with minimal staff support. He has also purchased his own truck, a significant achievement that reflects his determination, responsibility, and commitment to maintaining his independence.
Willie’s work history includes the ResCare Day Program’s mobile lawn care crew, Beauregard Nursery, and Walmart. Since 2014, he has been a dedicated employee in BArc’s Supported Employment Program, working full‑time in the Recycling Department. Willie takes great pride in his work and has expressed a strong desire to continue his career with BArc. He is known for being dependable, hardworking, and eager to learn new tasks. His friendly, polite nature makes him a valued team member and a positive presence in the workplace.
Willie’s life reflects perseverance, independence, and a steady commitment to doing his best. He continues to grow, contribute, and build a meaningful life rooted in responsibility, kindness, and personal progress.
