TEAM CEO Tim Makris was proud to attend the Shelton Juneteenth celebration last night, which honored and recognized the past and celebrated our future - by investing in the leaders of our next generation. Congratulations to Makiya and Anastazja, two exceptional students who won the Shelton Juneteenth Committee's scholarships. We are inspired by the dedication and tenacity of our young people who are committed to making this world a better place!

PLUS - well done to the art content winners and performers who made last night's event truly special!

Juneteenth is a day to commemorate freedom, equality, and a renewed commitment to the pursuit of each. Together, we will ensure our world - starting right here with our own communities - truly provide access and fair opportunity for ALL. As the Committee shared: "Juneteenth reminds us that freedom is both a historic milestone and a living commitment."

Last week, TEAM's Slocum School partnered with (Substance Exposed Pregnancy Initiative of Connecticut) to host a Community Baby Shower for families in the Waterbury area and neighboring towns and cities. The event brought together 23 community agencies that provided valuable resources, information, and support services for pregnant women and mothers of newborns and infants.

Nearly 200 individuals, including 72 expectant mothers stopped by the enjoy the community support and resources offered. Most importantly, we hope they captured the feeling that they are NOT alone.

Through this collaborative effort, families were connected with essential resources aimed at promoting healthy pregnancies, infant well-being, and family stability. TEAM was proud to host this event.

Lilly was honored to be invited to Melissa in the Morning's WICC600 Diner Tour at the Valley Diner to represent TEAM.

Our community members are facing unique and complex challenges each day, from an unexpected expense putting them behind on their bills, to parents of young children searching for childcare so they can get back to work, or a senior needing some help simply cooking a meal. TEAM staff support our residents each day, helping families move from a moment of crisis to a path of stability.

We could not do it without the support of this community. Melissa - thank you for offering the platform and the opportunity to share about the work of TEAM!

Over the weekend, TEAM CEO Tim Makris was honored to be a part of a panel at St.Thomas the Apostle Church Oxford CT's Confirmation Class. Students heard about each presenter's career path and the joys and challenges it has presented. The conversation also dove into motivations for their "next right move." TEAM is proud partners of St. Thomas, and grateful for their continued support for Toys 4 Kids, Project MANNA and more, and we were grateful to give back by being a part of this thoughtful conversation!
