We just added four new Lake Wise properties to our list of awards. That brings us within reach of earning the Gold Lake Wise Award which means 15% of all lakefront properties around Salem have will passed the standard for healhy shoreline management. Congratulations to our latest awardees along the 4H Road including Eric Plaskonos, John and Diane Guyette, Madeline and Paul Roy, Maureen and Dana Lemieux. A few more assessments are underway and we need just six more awards to get the gold, according Alison Marchione, Lake Shoreland Coordinator and Program Manaer for the Lake Wise Program with the Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation.

As we approach our Annual Meeting this Saturday at Char Bo Campgrounds, we want to remind everyone of the progress we’ve made with the Lakewise Conservation program and recognize Leslie Delhaie for being the most recent Lakewise Award Recipient. This brings us to a total of 14 properties awarded on the lake lacing us at 50% of our goal of 28.
