On Tuesday, December 3, 2024, the DeQuincy Masonic Lodge #279 held an open meeeting to install newly elected Officers for 2025.

On April 7, 2024, Brother Lanty Wiley PM was recognized at the 10th Masonic District Lodge meeting( held at DeQuincy Masonic Lodge) for obtaining his level 1 proficiency card.

Brother Lanty is a member of DeQuincy Lodge #279 and Sulphur Lodge #424 F.&A.M. He is a Habibi Shriner, and Scottish Rite Mason. He has served as WM in both Lodges, on more than one occasion;) and is the current JW for the 10th Masonic District.

Lanty’s dedication to masonry is admirable. He is always willing to assist the craft in making the world a better and happier place. If I could sum up Lanty’s service in one sentence ( which I cannot) it would be this, “wherever you need me.”

Thank you Brother Lanty for all that you do, and congratulations on your achievement.

On March 5, 2024, Brother David Hyatt PM was awarded the 2023 Mason of the year Award for DeQuincy Masonic Lodge # 279 F.&A.M.

Brother David Hyatt was chosen to recieve this award in recognition of his dedication and service to the lodge. Brother David served as WM of the Lodge in 2018, yet he has been a leader in the lodge since he was raised in 2011. The lodge owes much of its success, to Brother David’s zeal for masonry.

Brother David is a Mason in both Texas and Louisiana. He is also a member of the Habibi Shriners, and is a 32° KCCH in the Scottish Rite, were he is also takes leading roles and excels in advancing masonry.

Thank you Brother David for all that you have done and continue to do. Congratulations on being named the 2023 DeQuincy Masonic Lodge #279 F.&A.M. Mason of the Year.

On March 5, 2024, Brother Lynn Spikes PM was recognized for 25 (+) years of service in Masonry. Brother Spikes was raised to the degree of Master Mason, on June 15, 1998, in Merryville Lodge #329 F.& A.M. He is a member of the Habibi Shriners, a level 3 proficiency card holder, and plural/ perpetual member of DeQuincy Masonic Lodge #279 and Sam Todd Lodge #182 F.&A.M.

Brother Lynn Spikes has taught many masons on their journey to becoming Master Masons. Teaching candidates is one of, if not the most important job in the lodge, and he has done that job very well.

Thank you Brother Lynn for your dedication and contributions to our craft, and congratulations on 25(+) years of masonry.

On February 7, 2023, Bro. James Nash was presented with the 2022 Mason of the Year award, for DeQuincy Masonic Lodge # 279 F.&A.M.

DeQuincy Masonic Lodge 279 F&AM makes donation to local fire departments.

Recently, DeQuincy Masonic Lodge 279 members donated funding to Ward 6 Fire Protection District # 1 and DeQuincy Volunteer Fire Department for the purchase of bottled water.

Staying hydrated during emergency response calls is an integral part of firefighter rehabilitation to prevent heat related emergencies during training or on emergency scenes.

On 11-5-2022, Masonic Lodge members met with fire department representatives to document this important donation.

Both departments greatly appreciate the support of the local Masonic Lodge as we work together to ensure our communities have the best emergency response services.

Tonight, the DeQuincy Masonic Lodge #279 F.&A.M. honored ( two years worth) of Juniors for the Honesty & Integrity Awards.

The H&I awards for 2021 were canceled due to COVID restrictions. This we honored Jr’s and seniors from several area schools.
