***Tournament Update***

Thank you for your interest in the 1st Annual Shisler Strong Tournament. This is a public event and there will be food vendors and t shirts available day of.

The purpose of this tournament is to raise funds for the Shisler Strong Foundation which will provide 3 types of scholarships each year to those focused on law enforcement:

· Two Deptford High School graduating seniors majoring in criminal justice in college

· One Alternate Route Scholarship to the Gloucester Police Academy

· One Command and Leadership course for a member of the supervisory staff at the Deptford Township Police Department

In this first year of the Shisler Strong Softball Tournament, 30 teams registered for the event - 24 Rec teams (those put together specifically for this tourney) and 6 Organized teams. The tournament will be played as follows:

· The teams are broken into two “divisions”, the Rec teams and the Organized teams. The 6 Organized teams will play against each other, and the 24 Rec teams will play each other during the day.

· All teams will get a minimum of 3 games to play - 2 regular games and 1 playoff game.

· There will be trophies awarded for the top two teams in each division.

During the day we will update scores and as we prepare for the Playoffs to begin at 3pm we will load what teams are playing when and where. On the day of the tournament if there are any questions you can reach out to a member of the Committee who will be easily identified by the shirts that we will be wearing or come to the registration table that will be located in the grass area next to the Softball Concession Stand.

Official schedule is as follows:

Date: Saturday August 3

Location: Stauffer Fields, 52 Montague Lane, Deptford, NJ 08096.

8:00am – Team check-in begins (all registered teams must check in)

8:45am - Opening Ceremony begins in the area around Field 3 (behind the concession stand)

9:00am - First Round of Games begin

12:00pm - Round Two of games begin

3:00pm - Playoffs begin

7:00pm - Organized Division Championship game (Field 3)

9:00pm - Rec Division Championship Game (Field 3)

Remember to support the Deptford Girls Softball Concession Stand (General Concession Stand style food), Deptford Township Career Firefighters (Pulled Pork Platters and assorted BBQ food) and Project Refit who will be selling fluids as part of this fund raiser.

The time has come to register for the 1st Annual Shisler Strong Softball Tournament, being held on Saturday, August 3rd, 2024 at the Deptford Girls Softball Fields located at 52 Montague Lane, Deptford, NJ. This tournament is being held in memory of Robert "Bobby" Shisler to sponsor some high school and Law Enforcement Scholarships on an annual basis.

To register for the tournament scan the QR code on the flyer for Team Registrations, Volunteers and T-Shirt sales. Registration will be capped at the 1st 30 teams to register so that the Shisler Strong Foundation can manage this event and make it fun for everyone.
Tournament Rules and Hold Harmless Waiver can also be obtained by scanning the 2 other QR codes.

Volunteer's will be needed to help run the tournament, ie: Scorekeepers, Registration Check In, and other various tasks during the day.

Bikes, and Jeeps put this on your calendar!! Please pass this on to your jeep friends and motorcycle friends too. This is going to be a yearly event, and the only ride sanctioned by the Shisler Family! We thank them for trusting us with their son and brother's name and reputation in supporting us!
Come out for the ride, all motorcycles and all jeeps, walk-ups are always welcomed at Harbaugh Village to honor this fallen officer and celebrate his life. When there, we will have a live band on stage for your enjoyment, food, vendors, 50/50, K-9 demo from West Deptford K-9 Unit and much more.
We are honored that the Shisler family will be in attendance and lead the escorted police ride into Hardbaugh Village.

Today, our P.O. Bobby Shisler #5273 would have been 28 years old. A true hero who packed a lifetime worth of memories in his short time with us!

We will never forget him! His family has become our family! He sacrificed everything for our beloved town.

Happy 28th birthday, Bobby! We love you and we know you’re with us!! 💙💔
