❤️ HeroFest 2026 was a day to remember! ❤️

Women Who Served: Colorado Veterans was honored to be one of the many nonprofits at HeroFest 2026, hosted by Canvas Foundation, celebrating and supporting Denver’s first responders.

From connecting with guests at our table to meeting fellow organizations and members of the community, the day was filled with meaningful conversations, new connections, and plenty of reasons to celebrate.

Most of all, it was incredible to see the community come together to recognize the men and women who serve and protect our communities every day.

We’re grateful to the Canvas Foundation for creating a space where nonprofits, first responders, families, and the community could come together.

🩷 OCTOBER IS BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH 🩷

October is a reminder to take care of ourselves - and to support the women around us.

For women veterans and women everywhere, taking preventative steps and staying informed about breast health matters. Know your risk, talk with your healthcare provider, and stay up to date with recommended screenings.

And for those walking through a breast cancer journey: you don't have to walk it alone. ❤️

Be the friend who checks in. The person who listens. The one who shows up for an appointment, sends a message, or simply sits beside her when she needs someone there.

This month, let's remember that awareness isn't just about wearing pink. It's about taking care of ourselves, looking out for one another, and showing up when it matters.

Know. Check. Support.

💚 As September comes to a close, so does Su***de Prevention Month.

But checking in on one another doesn’t have to end when the month does.

For women who have served, connection can be especially meaningful. Sometimes it’s a text. A phone call. A cup of coffee. A walk together. A simple “How are you really doing?”

You don’t need to have the perfect words. You just need to be willing to reach out and willing to listen.

Keep checking in. Keep showing up. Keep making space for connection. 💚

☕️ HAPPY NATIONAL COFFEE DAY! ☕️

Today is a great excuse to grab a cup of coffee, but even better, grab a cup of coffee with another woman veteran. 🇺🇸

Reach out to someone you served with, a fellow woman veteran you’ve met recently, or someone you’ve been meaning to connect with. Invite her for coffee, catch up, share stories, or simply enjoy some time together.

Sometimes connection starts with something as simple as “Want to grab a coffee?” ❤️

There are 4 spots available for women veteran equine therapy October 10th from 10a-1p, located in Longmont, CO

It is $99 for the barn and facilitator fee. It will include activities on the ground with the horses, centralized around relationship building, communication clarity, self-confidence, and fun! There are scholarships available if you cannot afford the full $99.

Yesterday, volunteers from Women Who Served: Colorado Veterans, along with volunteers from many other organizations and throughout the community, gathered at Fort Logan National Cemetery for a National Day of Service and Remembrance, marking 25 years since September 11, 2001.

As part of Patriot Day: Support Carry The Load ((https://carrytheload.org/), volunteers spent the morning giving back - cleaning gravestones, picking up trash, pulling weeds, and helping care for the final resting place of those who served our country.

It was a meaningful way to remember, honor, and serve - 25 years later, and always. 🇺🇸

We remember. We honor. We serve.

Twenty-five years later, the memories of September 11, 2001 remain.

We remember those who were lost. We honor the First Responders, service members, veterans, military families, and countless others whose lives were forever changed.

And we remember September 12, 2001 - when our nation came together as one.

"Never Forget" was never meant to be just about one day. It means forever.

On Saturday, September 12, 2026, Women Who Served: Colorado Veterans will participate in Carry The Load at Fort Logan National Cemetery.

Patriot Day provides an opportunity to remember those whose lives were lost on September 11, 2001, while also recognizing the continued sacrifices of our military members, veterans, first responders, and their families.

As part of this year's Carry The Load event, we will volunteer at Fort Logan National Cemetery to clean veterans’ headstones, turning remembrance into an opportunity for service.

We invite women veterans, family members, friends, and community supporters to join us.

Registration is FREE, but REQUIRED, and participant names must be submitted in advance. If you plan to attend with family or friends, please include their names when completing the registration form.
