On April 18, 2026, Greater Denver Pheasants Forever hosted the 2nd Annual Habitat and Wingshooting Adventure for students from Colorado State University!

Students learned safe fi***rm handling in the field and on the range, participated in clay target shooting, and enjoyed exciting hunting dog demonstrations. Events like these help connect the next generation to conservation, outdoor traditions, and the upland hunting experience. On April 11, Greater Denver Pheasants Forever hosted a live bird hunt for students from Colorado State University over pointing dogs. Cool weather and running birds made for a challenging day in the field, but students still harvested birds and gained valuable hands-on experience in upland hunting, conservation, and outdoor traditions. Here are some highlights from an incredible weekend with Greater Denver Pheasants Forever at their Habitat and Wingshooting Adventure at Valhalla Hunt Club ! 🐦🌾

We had the privilege of spending time with an amazing group of students—sharing knowledge, building skills, and fostering a deeper appreciation for conservation and the outdoors.

From hands-on habitat education to time in the field, this experience was all about connecting the next generation to the importance of wildlife stewardship and responsible wingshooting.

Thank you to everyone who made this weekend so memorable!

On March 25, Colorado State University students gathered to hear our Habitat Chair Steve Osa and President Dean Titterington present on habitat conservation techniques in Colorado, careers with PF, hunting opportunities and chapter outreach through our Habitat and Wingshooting Adventures.

We also arranged for District Wildllife Manager Patrick Prahl to present on multiple topics including the organization structure of Colorado Parks and Wildlife, careers, seasonal employment opportunities and videos of some of his personal, unique wildlife encounters.

This event is part of our continuing collegiate outreach and part of the Path to the Uplands program.
