🐾 FOUND A KITTEN? PLEASE READ 🐾

If you have found a kitten or kittens, please pause before intervening — the most important step is to watch from a distance first.

‼️ DO NOT immediately remove the kittens.

Mama cat is often nearby and may only be away searching for food. She will usually return when she feels it is safe.

👀 Watch from afar for at least a few hours if possible before assuming the kittens are abandoned. Keep noise and activity low so you don’t scare the mother away.

🐱 If the kittens are in a safe location, the best chance of survival is staying with their mom.

⚠️ Only intervene if:

-The kittens are in immediate danger
-They are cold, injured, or crying nonstop for an extended period with no sign of mom
-Mama has not returned after careful observation

📣📣 Alfonso is back home with his foster mama and doggie and kittie foster siblings!
He isn't too happy right now as you can see by this recent picture but he is also on quite a few meds for pain.
He got to keep his leg however, his bone was not reset because it had already calloused over too much (see photo). He has a pin and while that leg is gonna be shorter than his other back leg, he will live a full healthy life!
He will be receiving laser therapy twice a week which will help him heal and after about a month of rest and recovery, he should be ready to find a forever home.
A huge thank you to so many of you who donated towards this surgery! It has been an immense help and he is one lucky boy to have so many people rallying behind him!!

🚨We have a problem!

This adorable, sweet, funny, cuddly, loving boy was going to be a "foster fail". Unfortunately within days from making that decision, Copper's foster mom lost her job working from home. The good news for her is that she was able to find another job quickly but will now be gone from home from 6am to 6pm (as is foster dad) and they refuse to leave him crated that long (and we agree).
They have made the painful and heartbreaking decision to put him back into the adoption pile so that he has the opportunity to find a home where he won't be alone so long.
The new job starts THIS MONDAY, 6/8!!
If you can't adopt Copper, would you at least consider taking over fostering him for us??
He is 💯 a gem! We really need someone to step up!

Although he no longer lives on a chain, he is still outdoors. That smile...well, it's because he is a wonderful dog, despite what he has been through.

Gordy reminds me of a fluffy little cloud that fell to earth and decided to stay—and we’re all the better for it. His snowy coat and puffy tail stop people in their tracks, but not before they spot his forever smile. Even though he’s special needs, you’ll never meet a happier boy. Gordy is partially blind in one eye and was born with a genetic condition that causes a head tilt and affects the way he moves. He may spin at times—even outdoors—but perhaps he’s got a joyful tune in his head that only he can hear. Gordy was surrendered when his former family could no longer manage his needs. While he lived with other dogs, he would do best as the only pet. Older kids may be okay if they are respectful and understand that he needs space and gentle handling. He’s seeking a patient adopter who can offer him structure, safety, and a calming routine. Gordy finds joy in toys, fresh air, and someone to show him love—the simple things in life. He’s waiting at the shelter to meet you.

Well if this story doesn't get you not only mad as hell but also shedding a few tears, I'd be surprised.
This is Alfonso, who we call our Hero dog!
He was adopted by a young girl from ACC on 4/24.
On 5/9 he was brought back injured. The shelter was called when an employee from a storage facility saw someone abandoning him at their fence line by a male subject. Later information indicated the boyfriend was harming the girl who adopted Alfonso. When Alfonso attempted to intervene, the guy picked him up by the neck and slammed him to the ground and stepped on him! 😮🤬😭💔👊
Camera was unable to ID the person and minimal information is available on the boyfriend. No leads have come forward. Apparantly both police and the girls family are in search of her.

Despite all of this, Alfonso is the sweetest, most gentle, loving boy you could ever imagine.

He is suffering from a fractured femur which fortunately we are able to have repaired vs amputation which we were told might be the outcome. This brave boy goes in on Tuesday for his surgery with Dr Watson at Carolina Veterinary Medical Hospital.
The estimate is between $4583.73 and $4778.99.
