Cuerdas Y Canciones Center For Mariachi Arts and Culture

"Mariachi has become so popular that demand for teachers has outstripped the supply."

Check out this recently NPR story on the mariachi programs in Las Vegas.

It’s a powerful reminder of the need for more educators equipped to teach mariachi—and why Cuerdas y Canciones’ mission to support educators in teaching this beautiful musical tradition is so important.

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas, now offers a minor in teaching mariachi. The music remains popular among young people and someone's got to teach them how to play it.
