Federal Boulevard Partnership

Federal Boulevard Partnership Community and Economic Development

The Federal Boulevard Partnership was formed in 2007 by local Federal business and community interests to fulfill the mission to improve health and safety, accessibility, and economic vitality along Federal Boulevard, while preserving its cultural diversity and historic character. Our vision for the “Boulevard” is one of Denver’s main streets where people live, work, and play in a clean and safe p

edestrian friendly environment that embraces cultural, social, and economic diversity. This is accomplished by:

Promoting mixed use development in conjunction with historical preservation

Improving transit, vehicular and pedestrian movement

Providing Community Development initiatives that support our vision

Enhancing the visual appeal of the Boulevard

Planning Board to hear community's thoughts on Denver's draft plans for growth!

In an effort to give community members an opportunity to share their thoughts on Denver's vision for growth over the next 20 years with Denver’s Planning Board, a stand-alone listening session with the board will be held Wednesday, February 27. The session will be focused on the current drafts of Comprehensive Plan 2040 and Blueprint Denver, part of the Denveright family of plans that will help shape a more inclusive, connected and healthy city.

Planning Board Listening Session
4-7 p.m., Wednesday, February 27
Webb Municipal Building, Room 4.G.2-4.F.6
201 W. Colfax Ave., Denver

The session will be broadcast live on Denver 8.
The listening session is not a formal hearing. The board will not vote or take any action in the meeting.
City planners will use the comments to make final edits to the plan drafts. Complete information on the meeting is available on the Denveright website.

**** NEW (RESCHEDULED) DATE -- TUESDAY, FEB. 19TH !! ***

Join your neighbors at an important public meeting as we move to decide on a preferred design for the Colfax & Federal interchange.

The meeting is from 6:00-7:30 pm on
Tuesday, February 19th at the
Alamo Drafthouse Cinema Sloans Lake at
4255 W Colfax Ave.

This comes at a critical juncture in the project, with exciting news about City funding for the redesign of Colfax & Federal. Community preference for the preferred design option for the intersection will inform the City and CDOT's evaluation of the project moving forward. We will also have updates on short-term improvements and information about a potential event on the Federal bridge over Colfax.

Snacks, translation, and childcare will be provided.

Denver Kicks Off Reconstruction on Federal Boulevard-
Work to enhance safety for all commuters from W. 7th Ave to W. Holden Pl

DENVER — On the evening of Monday, July 23, Denver Public Works will begin reconstructing a stretch of Federal Boulevard from West 7th Avenue to West Holden Place to enhance safety for people who walk, bike, take transit, and drive the corridor. The enhancements will also improve connectivity between the neighborhoods whose residents regularly cross Federal, including residents of Sun Valley. The project, which is expected to be completed in early 2020, aligns with Denver’s Vision Zero Action Plan to save lives and create safer streets over the next five years.

Federal Boulevard has been identified as a high priority corridor for Vision Zero implementation and the enhancements will include the following:

- New concrete pavement, curb and gutter
- Three continuous northbound travel lanes and a raised, landscaped median between W. 7th Avenue and W. Holden Place to improve mobility and safety.
- Installing new sidewalks to enhance access to light rail stations and bus stops
- Upgrading the traffic signals at W. 8th and W. 10th Avenues, which includes installing colored crosswalks
- Adding colored crosswalks at the Holden intersection to enhance pedestrian visibility
- Planting new trees on the east side of Federal

On Monday night, construction will kick off on the south end of the stretch and will be done in phases, moving to West Holden Place. While work is underway along a stretch, two travel lanes will remain open in each direction of Federal. Denver Public Works will try to keep traffic impacts to a minimum during the duration of the project.
Normal working hours will be Monday through Friday. Work will occur occasionally overnight and on the weekends. Business access will be maintained during construction.

The public’s patience and cooperation are greatly appreciated. All work is weather dependent and subject to change.
