I was born and raised in Lancaster, PA as a first generation American citizen. In June 2014, I sold everything I owned and left the East Coast in search of a receptacle for my wildest dreams. I ran west of the Mississippi with the belief that I deserved to have everything the world had to offer. Upon arrival in Colorado, I found that the mountains freed my soul of past failures but then left me em
pty longing for the warmth of companionship. I traded love and friendship in exchange for the lonely trail and raw wilderness of the Rocky Mountains. With youthful ignorance, I gave myself to nature with no concrete plan as to what I would do next. As a 24-year-old college graduate with four part-time jobs and an undying wanderlust, I have struggled in my search for a role in this world. Although I feel most alive dwelling here beneath the shadow of the mountains, I feel disposable otherwise. I have explored science, sports, and literature and found nothing to be true and meaningful enough to dedicate my life’s work or offer my mind, body, and soul. But through it all, the one foundation that stayed exactly right where I left it, is my belief in a human connection. This is why I’m here. And that’s what I hope brought you right here, right now, too. The Spark Effect is an attempt to define the things that inspire us. This website is a collection of sparks and stories from the most extraordinary and most ordinary people. It’s an endeavor bound with the goal of finding light in the darkest room and igniting passion inside of the most beaten man. It’s a craze that will consume its creator until a spark has been found in all 195 U.N. recognized countries and a warm fire has been lit within the blackest soul. I sincerely cannot wait to meet you, hear your story, and share it with the world. With love and spark,
