🔐 October is National Cybersecurity Awareness Month!

For banks, protecting information is about more than technology. It is about protecting your customers, your institution and the communities you serve.

Cybersecurity is a shared responsibility, and small habits can make a big difference. Staying alert to phishing attempts, using strong passwords, keeping sensitive information secure and reporting suspicious activity are all important steps in reducing risk.

This month is a great reminder for all of us to stay vigilant, stay informed and make cybersecurity part of our everyday routine.

The CLARITY Act failed its procedural vote today. We are incredibly thankful to the Senators who oppose this bill as currently written and recognize the importance of maintaining the banking industries ability to lend and meet the needs of the communities they serve.

Today, we pause to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and honor the bravery of the first responders, service members and everyday Americans who stepped forward in the face of unimaginable tragedy.

Twenty-five years later, we continue to remember those we lost, the families forever changed and the courage and unity shown in the days that followed.

This opportunity brings together state bankers association leaders from across the country to collaborate, share perspectives and help strengthen the banking industry at both the state and national levels.

At our August Board meeting, CBA President & CEO Jenifer Waller presented Alison Morgan with our coveted Golden Hammer Award, and we can’t think of anyone more deserving.

Throughout the 2026 legislative session, Alison worked tirelessly on behalf of Colorado’s banking industry. She took on countless bills, long hours and late nights, but her work on the interchange bill was truly extraordinary.

Alison fought relentlessly to make sure the voice of Colorado banks was heard. After months of hard work, strategy, advocacy and determination, the bill was ultimately vetoed by Governor Polis.

That outcome didn’t happen by accident. It took people willing to put in the hours, have the difficult conversations and keep pushing until the very end, and Alison did exactly that.

There is truly no one quite like her. We are incredibly fortunate to have Alison fighting for Colorado banks every single day.

Congratulations, Alison! The Golden Hammer is very well deserved.
