The Transformative Leadership for Change Fellowship (TLC) is a fellowship program designed to build the power and leadership of social change leaders of color in Colorado.

A glimpse into our spring Fellowship Day and Funder-Fellow Gathering!

One of the most resounding messages of the day was that transforming systems requires transforming relationships. TLC creates space for fellows and funders to learn from one another and build the trust needed for meaningful change. Through the TLC fellowship, BIPOC leaders gain direct access to a network of funders and resource partners who can help amplify their work and support their long-term vision.

Graduation is quickly approaching for our current TLC Fellows!

On Saturday, June 27, we're excited to welcome Saj Fresh Grill, a locally owned restaurant serving authentic Palestinian and Mediterranean cuisine. Their dishes are prepared fresh daily using traditional recipes. All menu offerings will be available to our guests at no additional cost, including vegetarian, gluten-free, and dairy-free options – something for everyone to enjoy!

This year’s Fellowship Graduation Celebration will include an energizing performance by México en la piel, a folklórico group of youth dancers. These fierce performers bring the beauty and pride of Mexico to the stage through rapid-fire stomping as well as rhythmic, dramatic, and gorgeous movement!

TLC has a whole new look and vibe, so it feels right that we reintroduce ourselves!

First up: the newest member of our team, Ash Ferguson, graduate of TLC 2023-2024 Fellowship, former Co-Executive Director of Soul 2 Soul Sisters, and highly trained somatic practitioner & coach. We welcome Ash in their role as FAM Engagement Director!

I love being in nature so sitting by a river listening to what spirit has for me.

Just knowing that life is just going to get sweeter and sweeter every day.

I want to aid in refilling our movement leaders cups, remind them of their tools and create portals to sit the work down, build community and kick back together.

At the end of last year, the TLC community lost one of our most beloved members, Mimi Estelle Madrid Puga (he/they/she), 2021-2022 TLC Fellow, and Founder/Executive Director of Fortaleza Familiar, a community-based nonprofit dedicated to the wellbeing of Indigenous, Chicanx, Latinx, LGBTQ and Two-Spirit young people and their families in Colorado.

It is spring, and you can hear Mimi still speaking to us in the language of sunflower seeds, hummingbirds, and Assata Shakur chants. Mimi remains present in the soil of the earth, the stars in the cosmos, and in the winds that connect the two. Mimi lives on forever in the hearts and souls of those of us who had the privilege to love them and be loved by them.
