West Virginia's Decentralized Unincorporated Nonprofit Association Act, effective July 1, 2026, explicitly recognizes -based governance. The law gives decentralized organizations a legal home in West Virginia, allowing groups that make decisions collectively online to operate within a recognized legal structure rather than forcing them into a traditional corporate model with centralized leadership.
