Across Colorado, faith and community leaders are coming together with local officials to build confidence in our elections and strengthen trust through and after election day.

In the past two weeks, Together Colorado members across eight counties have met with County Clerks & Recorders to learn how our elections work and demand that officials publicly commit to free and secure elections.

As people of faith, we know that when we vote, we honor the dignity and well-being of all our neighbors.

Hands Off Our Vote! 🗳️ Over the past two weeks, Together Colorado members across race, faith, and background have met with County Clerks and Recorders and held election forums in Denver, Boulder, Larimer, Weld, El Paso, Pueblo, Arapahoe, and Douglas Counties to build relationships and voting confidence, and prepare our communities to make this election too big to rig.

Together, we’re learning how our elections work, understanding the safeguards in place, and calling on our elected officials to protect every person’s rights. This is what people power looks like: neighbors united to defend fair elections because voting is sacred.

We all want our families and neighbors to have a real voice in the decisions that shape our lives and our future, no matter our background.

But when powerful interests try to push an ICE detention center into Hudson without listening to the people who live here, they disrespect our dignity and take away our right to decide what happens in our own backyards.

That’s why we’ve strengthened our lawsuit to challenge the Town of Hudson’s authority and demand a transparent, public process.

This is how we move closer to a Colorado where dignity and justice belong to all of us.

This Hispanic Heritage Month, we lift up the histories, cultures, and everyday contributions of Hispanic and Latino communities who help shape Colorado and make it home for all of us.

We celebrate the generations whose leadership, faith, culture, and organizing have built and continue to strengthen our communities. Together, we honor their legacy by carrying the work forward.

When people of faith gather to listen deeply, learn from one another, and dream together, we begin to see what housing justice could truly mean for our communities.

Last week, neighbors and faith leaders came together through the Colorado Springs Faith Table to talk honestly about the housing crisis and what it will take to build a better future for all of us in Colorado Springs.

We discussed how certain politicians and wealthy interests have put profits over people, making it harder for working families of every race and background to afford a home.

Together, we asked what it will take to build a future where everyone in Colorado Springs can thrive?

We were honored to have Catherine Duarte, AICP Senior Vice President, Housing Development Catholic Charities of Central Colorado join us. Thank you to everyone who showed up, spoke from the heart, and helped move this work forward.

As Jewish communities across Colorado observe Yom Kippur, we join together in a time of reflection. Yom Kippur invites us to look inward, take responsibility for where we have fallen short, and consider how we can show greater compassion and care for one another.

May this sacred day offer all of us time for renewal and recommitment to the work of building communities rooted in justice, care, and belonging. Wishing a meaningful and reflective Yom Kippur to all who observe.

63 years later, we’re still showing up, making good trouble, and refusing to back down.

Inspired by the 1963 March on Washington and John Lewis’ call to make good trouble, we came together to honor those who marched for justice and to recommit ourselves to fighting for a future where all of us have a say.

Thank you to Minister Daryl J. Walker for bringing us together, and to every community leader, organization, and neighbor who showed up. We’re especially grateful to Vickie Wilhite, Together Colorado Board Member and Transforming Justice Team Leader, who shared her voice and leadership from the stage.

Across race, faith, and background, we will keep celebrating Black leadership, build our collective power, and recommit to standing up for our rights through service, advocacy, and voting.

Every person in Hudson deserves a real say in the decisions that shape their lives and their town’s future. That’s why Hudson residents are taking action to challenge the town’s push to reopen the former prison as a 1,200-bed ICE detention center without meaningful input from the people who call Hudson home.

This fight is about more than one detention center. It’s about whether our communities get a say or whether powerful interests make those decisions behind closed doors.

Hudson families have spoken out about threats to their water, public safety, emergency services, and the well-being of their town. We are proud to support Hudson residents as they organize across lines of difference, speak out for justice, and defend their right to shape a future where everyone belongs.
