The Cleworth LEAP Scholarship is a scholarship of up to $25,000, renewable annually for a maximum of four years (cumulative potential award of $100,000 to a single student). The LEAP is awarded to an East High School senior who has been enrolled at East High school for at least 3 years and is based on outstanding overall academic achievement as determined by the following criteria. The scholarship is intended to facilitate the recipient's ability to make the 'LEAP' to continued excellence and enroll at the highest caliber postsecondary institution. The recipient will be notified of the award in mid-April.

Students who are related to or have a financial relationship with a selection committee member or a current or former board member of the East High Angel Foundation are not eligible to receive the CLS.

Criteria:
Complete Application must be submitted by Friday, March 1, 2024.
The student must have completed the FAFSA and share FAFSA’s SAI (Student Aid Index), formerly EFC along with documentation of any other financial assistance, and, if necessary, sign a FERPA waiver to facilitate the orchestration of the award with the postsecondary institution selected by the student. The student’s SAI, according to FAFSA, may not exceed $50,000. If your SAI is not calculated, please still submit.
Student must have a 3.75 unweighted GPA
Copy of EHS student transcript
SAT, ACT, and AP test scores if available
A list of Universities and Colleges from which the candidate has received offers of admission must be submitted by April 1, 2024, along with an indication of your top 3 choices and summaries of financial aid offers as applicable.
Submit your personal statement / college essay
Committee interview the week of April 1, 2024.

It's Spirit Week - Stop by the Spirit Store for your Red & White! The store is on the second floor next to the main office and is open Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays during lunch and on Fridays during 7th period.

Stock up on your East t-shirts, sweatshirts, and more at the EAST SPIRIT STORE! The store is on the second floor just south of the Main Office and is open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday during lunch and Friday during 7th period. (The Spirit Store is run by volunteers and will be closed if a volunteer is not available.)

The EAFAF East High Alumni Committee will be distributing individual breakfast burritos on 1/3/2022 for teachers and staff at East to welcome them back from break.
We are also conducting a gift card giveaway for teachers and staff. We’re asking East parents/community to help by donating gift cards. This annual drawing is a lot of fun for our teachers and staff, and they are so appreciative! Any amount is fine. Thank you in advance for your generosity!

Please drop off gift card donations in the main office (2nd floor) of East High School 7:30am-3:15 pm 12/16 and 12/17. Ask for Ariel Ruempolhamer.

The East Pantry will be open Saturday, 12/18 9-10:30am in the Commons.
The Pantry is open to East families who would like to pick up both fresh and non-perishable food to supplement their kitchens. There will be fresh fruit, vegetables, bread, and frozen meat available this month. This is a FREE service provided by the Angel Packs Program.
Please enter the building from Detroit St and bring your East student ID #.

Thank you to our amazing volunteers for keeping the store stocked and open this semester. We’re back in January!
