CDPHE is monitoring Shigella cases in Colorado, a bacteria that can spread by contact with the stool of a person with Shigella.

If you are diagnosed with Shigella, wash your hands regularly with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, do not prepare food for others while you are ill, and avoid having s*x for two weeks after your symptoms go away.
