We are the Sigma Upsilon chapter of the Sigma Alpha Iota, International Music Fraternity for women, founded in 1903. Originally chartered on September 30th, 1926, Sigma Upsilon was active at the University of Denver for nearly thirty years before going inactive. In 2005, a group of young women in the Lamont School of Music were inspired to bring Sigma Alpha Iota back to the university. After being

a colony for three years, Sigma Upsilon was officially reinstalled at DU on May 30th, 2009. We have continued to build our sisterhood and in May 2011, six more young women were initiated into the chapter, bringing our current membership to fourteen. We can't wait to see what this year brings for our chapter and are very excited to continue creating our rich legacy here in Denver!
