Delta Zeta - Denver Alumnae Chapter

Delta Zeta - Denver Alumnae Chapter This is the place for Delta Zeta's Denver Alums to connect and get caught up with the latest news and events.

Denver Delta Zeta Alumnae is comprised of sisters from chapters across the country who gather together regularly for sisterhood, social fun, service projects and philanthropy. We support both collegiate chapters in Colorado - Delta Xi, University of Northern Colorado and Rho, University of Denver. We are active in the Denver Area Panhellenic Council. Our chapter was honored in 2016 with the Alumna

e Chapter Excellence Award which is given to six alumnae chapters in the country that excel in membership engagement, programming, collegiate relations, philanthropy, and Panhellenic support.

Sisters and friends of Delta Zeta Denver Alumnae Chapter,

It is my distinct honor and privilege to announce our alumnae chapter’s nominee for Denver Area Panhellenic’s Alumnae Achievement Award. Our nominee is our incredibly inspiring sister and friend to countless individuals, breast cancer survivor, author, and philanthropist, Gail Nussbaum. She selflessly devotes her time, talent, and treasure to children with cancer and other serious diseases, epitomizing the true spirit of generosity and compassion. Her “Gail Pays It Forward” teddy bear charity event has been our chapter’s Spring Philanthropy for many years, and to date, more than 3000 bears have been donated to some truly amazing and brave kids. Gail’s book “Paisley’s Pays It Forward Adventure” is the heartwarming story of a teddy bear’s friendship with Ahna and their journey through Ahna’s cancer treatment. All proceeds from the sale of the book are donated to three charities supporting research and long-term homes away from home for children with cancer and other life-threatening diseases.

Please join me in congratulating Gail Nussbaum, our nominee for DAP’s Alumnae Achievement Award. Her remarkable achievements and selfless contributions are a shining testament to the power of kindness, generosity, and determination.

The winner will be announced at the DAP Spring Awards Luncheon. Ticket information is available on this page. Please join us in celebrating our sister, Gail 🐢💗

Happy Snowy Saturday Sisters! This weather will be out of here in time for next Saturday’s brunch, because who doesn’t love a good melt and a chance to shine?

There are a few invitations still available so please DM a good email address and we’ll send one to you if you’d like to join us for an uplifting morning of great food, sisterhood, and giving back.

In addition to sisterhood and connection and FOOD, we’ll be collecting new gloves, winter hats, warm socks, and long-sleeve shirts or new or gently used coats in all sizes, from children to adults, because agricultural workers and their families need our support.

It will be a fun event. Hope you will join us.

Hello Sisters and Friends of Delta Zeta,

I am honored and excited to announce our new local philanthropic partner, Frontline Farming. The mission of this organization is to to "create greater equity across our food system on the Front Range of Colorado. We specifically seek to support and create greater leadership and access for women and people of color in our food systems. We achieve these goals through growing food, listening, educating, honoring land and ancestors, policy initiatives, and direct action."

Our Chapter will directly partner with Frontline's sister non-profit organization, Project Protect Food Systems, which aims to provide clothing for agricultural workers and their families.

We got a great start with our Thanksgiving coat drive, donating directly to Project Protect Food Systems. They are currently asking for the following items to get them through the winter and spring: new gloves, winter hats, warm socks, and long-sleeve shirts or new or gently used coats. They accept all sizes, from children to adults.

I'd like to thank Lauren Simmons Braud, who has been our liasion with Frontine Farming, for establising this relationship for us. What a worthwhile oportunity for our Chapter!

If you are coming to brunch and want to contrubute, just bring your item(s) with you. Make sure coats are clean, new or gently worn. We will collect at brunch and deliver them to Frontline.

Deb Clayton
