Hello Sisters and Friends of Delta Zeta,
I am honored and excited to announce our new local philanthropic partner, Frontline Farming. The mission of this organization is to to "create greater equity across our food system on the Front Range of Colorado. We specifically seek to support and create greater leadership and access for women and people of color in our food systems. We achieve these goals through growing food, listening, educating, honoring land and ancestors, policy initiatives, and direct action."
Our Chapter will directly partner with Frontline's sister non-profit organization, Project Protect Food Systems, which aims to provide clothing for agricultural workers and their families.
We got a great start with our Thanksgiving coat drive, donating directly to Project Protect Food Systems. They are currently asking for the following items to get them through the winter and spring: new gloves, winter hats, warm socks, and long-sleeve shirts or new or gently used coats. They accept all sizes, from children to adults.
I'd like to thank Lauren Simmons Braud, who has been our liasion with Frontine Farming, for establising this relationship for us. What a worthwhile oportunity for our Chapter!
If you are coming to brunch and want to contrubute, just bring your item(s) with you. Make sure coats are clean, new or gently worn. We will collect at brunch and deliver them to Frontline.
