It is with tremendous JOY that we welcomed Madeleine Avila into the world on 11/8/22!! It was the most beautiful day and birth and we are so thankful she is here!!

Madeleine, our daughter - you are wanted. You are loved. You are beautiful. You are fearfully and wonderfully made. You are a gift and it is one of the greatest honors of my life to be your mama.

On the morning of Madeleine’s birth I was able to go to an early Mass. And it was really amazing and brought tears of thanksgiving to my eyes because the verse I prayed the most while I was single, going through therapy and waiting for a husband was “Trust in the Lord and He will grant you the desires of your heart.” - Psalm 37:4

That was the Responsorial psalm at our wedding and it was the psalm that day at Mass (Madeleine’s birthday)!

I prayed for all of your intentions during labor and delivery.

Thank you Father for the precious gift of sweet Madeleine Avila! You are so faithful!!

This is a little Friday night reminder for anyone who feels forgotten by God and alone. 12 years ago I moved from the east coast to Nashville, TN to see a Catholic psychologist to heal from abuse, depression and growing up in a violent and dysfunctional home. It was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. I had no job, no health insurance, no savings and was considered an “outcast” in my family for speaking up about the abuse.

I had a big dream though - I wanted to be a wife and mother one day. But not just any wife and mother - I wanted to heal and be healthy. I didn’t want my children to have to suffer the way I had. Every time I wanted to quit therapy and run away I would picture what my future children would look like and all that I would teach them. I really wanted a daughter one day. When the pain was suffocating - I thought of her and kept going.

I worked up to 3 jobs at a time to pay for the care I needed.

My life is a miracle and my recovery is proof of God the Father’s faithfulness. I am just about to give birth (any day) to our first daughter. Pregnancy makes me reflect on my story in a deep way. And when I meet her I am going to look at her and tell her how just the thought of her helped me persevere when I wanted to give up in therapy.

It’s one of the greatest honors of my life to be her mother.

God the Father is faithful my friends. Show up, do the work and watch Him perform miracles that will astound you.

Know that you are loved.
