The Denver Slippers-N-Sliders Ski Club is a nonprofit organization that was established in 1972 to promote the sport of skiing/snowboarding in the Colorado minority community. As a chapter of the Rocky Mountain Region of the National Brotherhood of Skiers, Inc. (NBS) it is our goal to help promote and foster opportunities for African American adults and youth to participate in recreational and com
petitive skiing. In conjunction with the NBS, the Denver Slippers-N-Sliders mission is to identify, develop and support athletes of color who will win International and Olympic Winter sport competitions representing the United States. Since 1974 the club has, with the assistance from local ski areas and businesses, sponsored its Ski For Kids program, a program that provides an opportunity for inner city children to learn to ski. The children selected for the program are from families that could probably never afford to provide such opportunities for their children. Children range in ages from seven to eleven years old. This program has accommodated over 1400 youth and counting. The size and the viability of the program is directly dependent of the level of financial support we received from our supporters and club membership. This is an important program for the Metro-Denver community and is our way of giving something back. ALL ARE WELCOME! Whether a beginner, professional skier/snowboarder or even just a fan of winter sports and not an actual participant, we gladly invite you to learn more about our organization and its purpose. We hold monthly General Meetings in the beautiful Park Hill community of Denver. Please email us for more information and don’t forget to check out our website. See you on the slopes!
