Taking Action to MAKE Mental Health Matter. Make Mental Health Matter (formerly BCC Evolution)
Empowering Minds, Saving Lives! We aim to ACE; increase Awareness, cultivate Conversation, and provide Education

Why Make Mental Health Matter?? Have you experienced the loss of someone to su***de, substance abuse, or another mental health challenge, and found yourself uttering phrases like these:

"I w

ish I had recognized the warning signs earlier." "If only I knew how to support them before it was too late." "I had no idea they were struggling." "I felt helpless; I didn't know how to offer assistance." "If only they had reached out to me." "I wish I knew how to help"

Here's where our mission begins...

We provide you with the essential tools, resources, and education to empower yourself and others in similar situations. Whether you want to make a difference in someone else's life or seek support for yourself, we are here for you. Our aim is to connect those facing mental health challenges with trustworthy resources and ensure that help is accessible. We serve both youth and adults, fostering a community dedicated to understanding, compassion, and proactive support. The Founder Kelli Melissa Reinhardt (Hansen) lost her middle sister Carrie to a completed su***de on Feb 20th, 2017. We open up the conversation about mental health, so that we start breaking down the stigma. You cannot always see a mental health challenge or know how to address it until it is too late, and we lose a life to a completed su***de. Our mission is to empower humans by providing the knowledge and skills needed to navigate difficult conversations about mental health, substance abuse, and su***de. We firmly believe that education and open conversations have the power to saves lives! Our vision is to stop the stigma and normalize the conversation about mental health and su***de through educational classes and community events to reach one million people by 2030. Annual events: Gala (Feb), Rock Your Welness (July), MHSA Film Festival (Sept)

💚💜💙 You don’t have to be a mental health professional to make a difference.

Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is check in.

A simple text.
A listening ear.
A kind word.
A reminder that someone isn’t alone.

Many people want to help but aren’t sure what to say or do when someone is struggling. The truth is, you don’t need to have all the answers. You just need to show up with compassion, curiosity, and care.

Today’s carousel shares a few simple ways to support someone who may be having a difficult time, whether they’re navigating stress, grief, anxiety, depression, or simply a tough season of life.

💬 Which tip resonated most with you?

💚 Check In.
💜 Listen.
💙 Stay Connected.

Because no one should have to struggle alone.

🌱 Mental Health Tip of the Day

Check in with yourself the same way you check in with the people you care about.

We often ask friends, family, and coworkers, “How are you doing?” but when was the last time you asked yourself that question and truly listened to the answer?

Today, take 60 seconds and ask yourself:

💭 How am I feeling right now?
💭 What do I need today?
💭 What is one small thing I can do to support my mental health?

Maybe it’s taking a walk.
Maybe it’s asking for help.
Maybe it’s taking a break without feeling guilty.

Remember, taking care of your mental health doesn’t have to be complicated. Small, intentional actions can make a big difference over time.

✨ Progress, not perfection.

💬 What’s one thing you’re doing for your mental health today?

Memorial Day is a day of remembrance, gratitude, and reflection. 🇺🇸

Today, we honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. We remember their sacrifice, their courage, and the families, friends, and fellow service members whose lives were forever changed by their loss.

For many veterans and military families, Memorial Day can also bring difficult emotions, grief, survivor’s guilt, trauma, or memories that are hard to carry.

If you know a veteran or someone connected to the military, one of the most powerful things you can do is simply check in.
Listen without trying to “fix” anything.
Create space for conversation.
Invite them to share stories about the people they’ve lost, if they want to.
Sometimes remembering someone’s life is one of the greatest ways we honor them.

Celebrating Memorial Day can look like:
❤️ Sharing memories and stories
🤍 Visiting memorials or cemeteries
💙 Attending remembrance events
❤️ Supporting veterans and military families
🤍 Taking a moment of silence and gratitude

And most importantly, reminding those who are struggling that they do not have to carry it alone.

Today’s episode of the Make Mental Health Matter Show focused on Memorial Day, mental health, and how we can better support survivors, veterans, and families navigating grief and loss. We encourage you to take a moment to watch and continue the conversation.

As we honor those we’ve lost today, let’s also show up for the people still carrying the weight of that loss. 💛

Happy Mother’s Day to all the incredible moms and mother figures 💜

The ones holding everything together.
The planners. The comforters. The safe place. The rock of the family.

Today, we also want to remind you of something important:
You matter too.

Not just as a mom.
Not just for what you do for everyone else.
But as you.

Taking care of your mental health is not selfish.
Rest is not weakness.
Taking a break does not make you a bad mom.

✨ You can love your family deeply and still need time to recharge.

Today, we celebrate every kind of mom and every woman who shows up with love, care, and strength.

We see you. We appreciate you. And we hope you take a moment for yourself today too 💚💜💙

Quick mental health check-in today 💛

Not the automatic “I’m fine” answer.
The real one.

How are you… really?

Mental Health Awareness Month is not about pretending we have it all together. It’s about creating honest conversations and reminding people they don’t have to struggle in silence.

Some days we feel motivated.
Some days we feel overwhelmed.
Some days we’re thriving.
And some days we’re just trying to make it through.

✨ All of those days are part of being human.

So today, take a moment to check in with yourself:
What do you need right now?

Rest?
Connection?
A laugh?
A break?
Support?

And if no one has reminded you lately, your mental health matters too.

💬 Drop a word, emoji, or GIF that describes your day today.

May the 4th be with you 💚

If you’ve followed Make Mental Health Matter for a while, you’ve probably heard our Founder & CEO, Kelli Melissa Reinhardt, talk about her love for Baby Yoda 😄

It’s even part of her “It’s Okay to Be Okay” keynote.

Because here’s the truth…
We all need something that lights us up.
Something that makes us smile, even on the hard days.

For Kelli, it’s Baby Yoda.
And yes, recently… those Nilla Nummies too 😄 (if you saw that Reel, you know!)

Those small moments of joy help release what she calls the brain’s “happy juices.”

And those moments matter more than we realize.

Mental health isn’t only about getting through the hard times.
It’s also about creating space for joy, laughter, and the things that make us feel like ourselves again.

✨ What’s your version of “Baby Yoda”?
What’s something that makes you smile no matter what?

Drop it below, we’d love to hear 💚💜💙

Today is International Bereaved Mother’s Day.

Observed on the first Sunday in May, this day honors mothers who have lost a child, and also recognizes women who carry the pain of infertility or other health challenges that have prevented them from becoming mothers.

For many, this season can feel incredibly heavy.
While the world prepares to celebrate Mother’s Day, there are women quietly carrying deep grief, longing, and loss.

Losing a child is one of the most profound forms of heartbreak a person can experience.
It’s not just the loss of a life, it’s the loss of moments that were dreamed of, milestones that will never come, and a future that was imagined with love.

Today, we acknowledge that pain.
We honor the strength it takes to keep going.
And we hold space for the mothers whose love continues, even in loss.

If this day is hard for you, please know you are not alone. Your grief matters. Your story matters.

💬 If you feel comfortable, you’re welcome to share or simply leave a 💛 in honor of a mother or child today.

Recovery Is for Everyone - Not Just Drugs and Alcohol. You don't have to have touched a substance to be in recovery. You just have to be human. Read a short, compassionate piece that expands what recovery can mean and why healing looks different for each person. Read more: https://wix.to/Sqbgkrb

You don't have to have touched a substance to be in recovery. You just have to be human. There's a story we've been told about what recovery looks like.It usually involves a rock bottom. A substance. A twelve-step meeting. A chip marking the days since the last drink or the last hit. And while that s...
