Meet the Team!
has a degree in International Studies and Foreign Languages and is currently working on her Masters in International Development. She has served with NYAC for 4 years and gone on many HOPE YouthsCorps and Medical Brigades! Her service doesn't stop there though! She's also currently serving in Fort Collins, CO as a campus ministry intern! Her experience and insight is invaluable to LYST!

Here is what Ryan has to say:
"I am so excited to see this program become a reality! LYST will fill a clear gap by teaching and training us how we can serve our communities. I know that I have come back inspired by different HOPE worldwide programs, but felt lost as to what I could do. Many of my peers have incredible hearts to serve like Jesus, but don’t know where to begin. I’m certain LYST will answer those questions and be a stepping stone to help each of us change the world through the compassion of Jesus!”

Meet the team!

repped NYAC for 5 years and served on 8 different HOPE Youth Corps! She has experience participating in and planning service events in her community and abroad!Currently, she is studying to become a physician assistant! The experience that Trina has working with HOPE worldwide and talking with other volunteers has helped to make the LYST program relevant and effective!

“This program is amazing because it allows people to learn how to serve in ways that they’re already passionate about. It’s so easy to be excited and have the heart to serve but have no idea where to start. This program will give people the tools to get things started in their own communities!”

is a high school math teacher who has much experience working with the youth! Michael has served on and even led HOPE Volunteer Corps in many different countries around the world! He is actively involved in his local HOPE worldwide chapter and has a great deal of experience in the ministry!

Here is what Michael has to say about LYST:

“This program promises to fill a gap in many people’s serving experience. It’s always an amazing time to serve on volunteer corps and other service brigades, but sometimes it’s much harder to make differences every day in our local community. I am fired up for LYST to teach us how we can serve like Jesus in practical and sustainable ways right in our hometowns.”

is an incredible and passionate NYAC rep who always goes above and beyond in her service to the group and her community! She has worked on many projects with and is an inspiring leader! Amber has put much thought into LYST! Here is what she has to say,
“I’m really looking forward to seeing all the work we’ve done come to life! I’ve always felt the feeling of “what now?” after returning from any service project or brigade, and it’s been an amazing experience to be able to help create a program to answer this question to others feeling similarly to me. I’m super excited to attend this program to learn how to have more of a zealous heart to serve others selflessly.”

From Passion to Reality

HOPE worldwide provides so many opportunities for youth to engage in service. Many young people have been on their fair share of HOPE Youth Corps and Community Service Brigades. Lives are changed on these trips as young people from around the world are inspired to serve like Jesus does. However, many participants come back asking the same question: Now what? We all want to serve, we have gained the biblical conviction, we just don’t know where to start. LYST aims to fill this gap. LYST is a 9-day program taking place in Denver, Colorado. It is designed to teach campus-aged students how to transform their passion for service into practical knowledge and skill. LYST participants will be trained by HOPE worldwide heroes in classes that cover topics such as nonprofit management, volunteer recruitment, effective fundraising, and so much more.
