Drought and limited natural food sources can push black bears to travel farther in search of food, sometimes bringing them into our neighborhoods.

We can help keep bears wild by:
🌲 Securing trash and recycling
🌲 Bringing pet food and bird feeders inside
🌲 Cleaning outdoor grills
🌲 Never feeding wildlife

Bears are an important part of Colorado’s landscape. Understanding why wildlife moves—and reducing human food sources—helps us coexist with our wild neighbors. 🐾 Follow Colorado Voters for Animals for more about Colorado’s animals and the issues affecting them.

Yellowjackets may have a bad reputation, but they have an important job to do.

As predators, yellowjackets feed on insects like flies, caterpillars and beetles. This helps naturally keep garden pests in check. Like many species we share our environment with, they’re part of a larger, interconnected ecosystem.

Yellowjackets still deserve our caution, especially around their nests. When possible, giving wildlife space can help us coexist safely while allowing them to play their role in nature.

Sea turtles are incredible travelers, navigating across oceans and returning to their birthplaces to nest. Along the way, they play an important role in keeping marine and coastal ecosystems healthy.

When sea turtles are kept in captivity, those natural journeys stop. This World Oceans Day, choose wildlife experiences that respect marine animals and their freedom.

Admire wildlife in the wild, where they belong.
