Animal Rescue of the Rockies ARR places at-risk pets from overcrowded shelters in loving foster homes until they're adopted. A.R.R. also works closely with other rescue groups in Colorado.

Animal Rescue of the Rockies is a 501(c)3 non profit Colorado corporation. Organized in 2003 by a group of friends who wanted to provide an alternative to the county shelter, A.R.R. has successfully provided foster homes and subsequent permanent homes to hundreds of dogs and cats to date. Because we don't have a shelter facility, we work exclusively with foster homes to give homeless pets the chance to socialize in a home environment. This gives them the advantage of transitioning to their new forever homes much more easily and quickly. We help with transport, fostering, and adoptions whenever we can. Happy National Dessert Day! 🍰💚 We have two sweet treats looking for forever homes—Toffee and Truffle!

Toffee is a sweet mix of cautious, cuddly, and wonderfully playful. She may take a little time to decide you’re her person, but once she does, she’ll happily move into your lap and ask for more pets!

Truffle is a tiny tortie who loves supervising litter-box cleaning, sampling wet food, and keeping her human company while they work. Once the workday is done, she’s happiest curled up on your lap.

Fenway has been in foster care since May 2025, and this 8-year-old gentleman is more than ready for a place to finally call home. At a compact 40 lbs, he’s full of charm with just the right touch of goofball energy. He’s mellow, sweet, and happiest when he’s by your side.

💚 Easygoing and an excellent litter box user

Dollie came into rescue through a TNR project but quickly made it clear that she wanted to trade outdoor life for a cozy indoor home. She can still startle at sudden loud noises, so a quieter home where she can feel safe and secure would be best. She’s fully vetted and ready for her forever family!

💚 HAPPY TAILS 💚

This World Mental Health Day, we’re celebrating Huck and the joy he brings to everyone he meets!

At just 8 lbs., Huck is a professional lap dog who charms everyone he meets. He traveled to Denver from a shelter in Houston, Texas, and found his forever home after just two weeks in foster with ARR.

His new mom and dad quickly recognized his ability to bond with people. Huck passed his Canine Good Citizen course and went on to complete TWO therapy dog courses—one with his mom and one with his dad!

Today, Huck regularly visits an adult daycare and rehab center, bringing smiles, comfort, and love to everyone he meets.

And in Huck’s honor, his mom arranged for her friend to make soft beds for ARR pups still waiting for their forever homes. What a wonderful way to pay it forward!

Bailey, aka Belly, is a sweet 8-year-old girl looking for her forever home!

About her:
💚 Sweet, loyal, and loves being wherever her person is
💚 Loves wand toys, naps, and, of course, food!
💚 Gets along well with both kittens and adult cats

Bailey came to ARR weighing over 17 pounds and is now a healthier 14 pounds after some TLC. She has a sensitive tummy and is on a prescription diet, but she doesn’t let that slow her down! She’d love a home where she can keep her person company, supervise their work, and enjoy plenty of cozy naps.

💚 Pistol: Female, 6 weeks, 7.1 lbs.
💚 Penny: Female, 3 years, 30 lbs. Good with other dogs.
💚 Gizmo: 12 weeks.
💚 Pecos: Male, 6 weeks, 6.9 lbs.
💚 Dawn: Female, 12 weeks old, spayed.
💚 Flint: Male, 1 year, 26 lbs. Shy but able to be handled. Needs leash confidence and is good with other dogs.
💚 Lizzie: Female, 1 year, 26 lbs. Quiet, gentle and sweet. Good with other dogs and more comfortable with canine friends around. She is still building confidence on leash and would benefit from a patient foster.

Chris may be tiny at just 5.5 pounds, but he has a huge personality and an even bigger love for his people!

About him:
💚 Sweet, affectionate, and loves being held, snuggled, and covered up like the tiny king he is
💚 Loves treats, squeaky toys, bones, car rides, and being with his person
💚 Does well with dogs and is happiest as a low-to-medium-energy cuddle buddy

Chris can be nervous and easily startled, but once he warms up, his sweet personality shines. He’ll need a patient home to help him build confidence, and he must be in a cat-free home.

The TEEFS Foundation Annual Used Book Fair is happening one week from today! 📚💚

TEEFS is one of Animal Rescue of the Rockies’ amazing supporters, helping provide donations and resources that directly benefit our foster animals. Most recently, they partnered with the Polkadot Powerhouse Westminster Chapter to collect an incredible amount of toys, treats, supplies, and other goodies for our dogs and cats. Now we have a chance to support them in return!

Say hello to Bobcat. He got his name because his cat mom left him at a construction site, in a Bobcat, when he was just a few days old. Since being found, he was bottle-raised and grew up very comfortable with people.

About him:
💚 Sweet, people-loving, and enjoys playing with toys and other cats
💚 Would love a young, playful feline friend, especially his foster friends Kedi or Kissa
💚 Has been exposed to small dogs and would likely do well with calm, cat-friendly kids
