๐Ÿ’œ We couldnโ€™t do this without our community.

Violet Bridge Foundation is still young, but from the very beginning, businesses and organizations have stepped forward and believed in what we are building.

We want to take a moment to recognize and thank some of the incredible organizations that have supported our mission through financial contributions, sponsorships, donated items, event support, and in-kind gifts:

๐Ÿ’œ Haynes Mechanical
๐Ÿ’œ Care Options
๐Ÿ’œ Developmental Pathways
๐Ÿ’œ Colorado Avalanche
๐Ÿ’œ Alpaca Health
๐Ÿ’œ Tender Care Pediatrics
๐Ÿ’œ TCPS Kids
๐Ÿ’œ Meow Wolf Denver
๐Ÿ’œ Denver Zoo Conservation Alliance
๐Ÿ’œ The Third Place for Kids

Every contribution looks a little different, but every one of them helps us continue showing up for families with special needs.

Your support helps us provide Family Navigation at no cost to families, offer direct assistance through our Bridge Grant Program, expand resources through Guiding Pathways, and create inclusive community events where families know they belong.

To every organization that has believed in Violet Bridge Foundation: **thank you.** ๐Ÿ’œ

You arenโ€™t simply supporting an organization. Youโ€™re helping us bridge the gaps in care that matter most, one family at a time.

โ˜• Sometimes, a cup of coffee is just a cup of coffee.

Other days, when youโ€™re a caregiver, itโ€™s the one youโ€™ve reheated three times because someone needed you. Itโ€™s a drive-through stop between appointments, a little comfort after a sleepless night, or five quiet minutes before the rest of the house wakes up.

Sometimes, itโ€™s sitting across from someone who understands, finally getting to finish a sentence and feeling a little less alone.

This International Coffee Day, weโ€™re sending a little extra love to the caregivers in our community. We see the planning, the advocating, the interrupted breaks, and the small moments of connection that mean everything.

You deserve care, too. Time to rest. Someone to listen. And a chance to enjoy something simply because it makes you happy. ๐Ÿ’œ

From all of us at Violet Bridge Foundation, thank you for the love and care you give every day. We hope your next cup comes with a moment for yourself.

๐Ÿ’œ Resource Spotlight: Speak Any Way

Everyone deserves a way to share their thoughts, express their needs, and connect with the people around them.

This week, weโ€™re highlighting Speak Any Way , an augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) platform created by a mom of two autistic boys who wanted communication tools to be more accessible for families.

AAC supports communication through tools such as pictures, symbols, and speech-generating technology. Speak Any Way offers:

๐Ÿ’ฌ Customizable communication boards with words, symbols, and personal photos.

โœจ AI-powered tools that quickly turn a photo of a restaurant menu into a communication board, or create boards from a simple description of an activity, routine, or topic.

๐Ÿ–จ๏ธ Printable boards for everyday routines, school, outings, and more.

๐Ÿ“ฑ Access through a web browser on phones, tablets, computers, and Chromebooks, plus an iPhone and iPad app.

๐Ÿ’œ A free plan to get started, with paid options for additional features.

For families, educators, and therapists exploring communication resources, Speak Any Way is one option to learn more about.

๐Ÿ’œ Keep inviting us.

Even when we have to say no.
Even when we cancel at the last minute.
Even when we can only stay for twenty minutes.

For families raising children with disabilities or special needs, joining in can take extra planning. Medical needs, sensory overload, accessibility barriers, or a difficult day can change plans we were looking forward to.

Having to miss something doesnโ€™t mean we donโ€™t want to be there. And being invited still matters.

Keep sending the birthday invitations. Keep including us in neighborhood gatherings, playdates, and everyday moments. Let us decide whatโ€™s possible, and leave room for us to participate in whatever way works that day.

A little flexibility can make it easier to say yes. Knowing what to expect, having a quiet place to take a break, or hearing โ€œWeโ€™d love to see you, even if you can only stay a little whileโ€ can mean so much.

At Violet Bridge Foundation, we believe belonging grows through these everyday acts of welcome.

An invitation says, โ€œYou belong here.โ€ Even when we canโ€™t make it, that still matters. ๐Ÿ’œ

Adult Pathways is officially LIVE. ๐Ÿ’œ

Today, our Guiding Pathways Program grows by one.

Autism Pathways was built to help families navigate autism.

Disability Pathways expanded that support across childhood disability.

And now, Adult Pathways is here to help disabled adults navigate what comes next.

Because so many disability resources focus on childhood.

Early intervention. IEPs. Therapy. School.

Then adulthood arrives, and suddenly the questions are completely different.

How do I navigate Medicaid?

What happens to my SSI if I work?

How do I find a job that fits me?

What housing options exist?

What is Vocational Rehabilitation?

How do I manage waivers, benefits, appointments and paperwork?

And one of the most important questions we asked while building it:

Who is actually holding the phone?

Most disability tools assume it's a parent or caregiver.

Adult Pathways doesn't.

During onboarding, you tell the app whether you're a disabled adult navigating these systems yourself or someone supporting a disabled adult. From there, the language changes throughout the experience, including reminders, quizzes, check-ins and even phone scripts you can read directly to a caseworker.

Because disabled adults deserve tools that speak to them, not around them.

Adult Pathways includes 167 screens, with 17 built specifically around adult life, including employment, benefits and work, housing, Medicaid, SSI, HCBS waivers, appeals, transition resources and more.

And just like the other tools within our Guiding Pathways Program:

It is completely free.

No subscription.
No ads.
No premium tier.
Every tool unlocked. ๐Ÿ’œ

๐Ÿ“ฑ Adult Pathways is available NOW on iOS and Android.

Three apps. One program. One goal:

Making complicated disability systems easier to navigate, no matter where you are in the journey.

Welcome to Adult Pathways. โค๏ธ

Every child deserves opportunities to play, explore, build confidence, and feel like they belong. ๐Ÿ’œ

Adaptive recreation makes activities more accessible by adjusting the equipment, environment, instruction, or rules to support each participantโ€™s needs.

It can include:

โšฝ Adaptive sports and movement programs
๐ŸŠ Inclusive swimming lessons
๐ŸŽจ Art, music, and theater programs
๐Ÿšฒ Modified biking and outdoor recreation
๐Ÿ•๏ธ Accessible camps and community activities
๐Ÿ› Sensory-friendly play opportunities

When exploring a program, families may want to ask:

โ€ข What training does the staff receive?
โ€ข Can the program support sensory, mobility, behavioral, or communication needs?
โ€ข Are visual schedules, quiet spaces, or adaptive equipment available?
โ€ข Can a caregiver or support person participate?
โ€ข Is there an opportunity to visit or try the activity before committing?
โ€ข Are scholarships or financial assistance available?

The goal should never be to make a child fit an activity. The activity should be adapted so the child has a meaningful opportunity to participate, connect, and have fun.

If your family needs help finding adaptive recreation opportunities, send Violet Bridge Foundation a message. Our Family Navigation Program can help you explore available resources.

Do you know of a great adaptive recreation program in your community? Share it in the comments so other families can find it too!
