Today marks our final post of the year, offering up one more glimpse back at the transformative journeys of our 2025 Global Changemakers. 🌏🌟

Gillian was an energetic, open-hearted, and globally curious Changemaker who brought joy, enthusiasm, and genuine warmth to every meeting. She loved connecting with peers in Vietnam, sharing facets of everyday life, and learning how cultural differences and similarities shape us. Her contributions to the Bright Bite Initiative (BBI) taught her how meaningful community impact becomes when shaped by diverse perspectives and collaboration. Gillian also recognized how support from the local community, including volunteers and families, made the launch day of BBI even more memorable. 💻💡❤️

Today, we’re continuing our year-end celebration with a moment of reflection and gratitude for our 2025 Global Changemakers. 🌎❤️

Cindy was an introspective, gentle yet courageous Changemaker who joined L2L with a love for languages, creativity, and cross-cultural connections. During her journey, Cindy discovered new levels of confidence in expressing herself and learned to speak more freely, share her ideas without fear, and trust her own voice. She also embraced the challenge of managing the Bright Bite Initiative (BBI) in Vietnam—a community-based project developed together with her fellow Changemakers in the U.S. From brainstorming ideas and weighing practicality to budgeting, purchasing, and packaging, she took on a wide range of responsibilities. It was not always easy, but Cindy handled everything with impressive maturity and calm. 🕊️🌿

Happy Holidays (L2L) Community!

In the spirit of the season, we’re taking some time to reflect on how fortunate we’ve been to carry out our mission of connecting young leaders in the U.S. and Vietnam over the last few years, and most importantly, to celebrate the individual journeys of our 2025 Global Changemakers.

Up first, we’re taking a look at Kayla, the leader of the Bright Bite Initiative (BBI)! 🌟🌎

Kayla was a thoughtful and compassionate Changemaker, who truly paved the way for our 2025 community project—the BBI, which was successfully carried out in the U.S. and in Vietnam. Kayla, together with fellow Changemaker Gillian, and L2L’s volunteers, supported the Richmond community in tackling SDG 2: Zero Hunger and SDG 3: Good Health & Well-Being by preparing nearly 300 care packages. Through this experience, Kayla discovered leadership qualities she did not know she had, such as confidence, critical decision-making, and the ability to stay grounded even while juggling summer classes and a busy schedule. 🍎📅

🎉 Celebrating the journey of Learn2Link's 2025 Global Changemakers 🎉

After 6 months of intercultural learning, community service, and global leadership, we proudly celebrate the close of L2L's 2025 Global Changemakers Virtual Exchange.

A special shoutout to our youth, Kayla, Cindy, and Gillian, who:

✅ Planned and led this year’s project—the Bright Bite Initiative (BBI)

✅ Participated in 20+ hours of intercultural exchange

✅ Attended 12 virtual meetings across 2 countries

✅ Explored all 17 UN SDGs, with a special focus on SDG 2: Zero Hunger and SDG 3: Good Health & Well-Being

✅ Spent 4 months bringing their ideas to life—from proposal to implementation

✅ Distributed nearly 400 personalized care packages to children in underserved communities

Celebrating 5 Years and Our Global Learning Community 🎉🌏

Today, as we close our 5th Anniversary–$10K Summer Fundraiser, our hearts are filled with gratitude for this community—for those who have uplifted Learn2Link (L2L) not only this summer, but also since the very beginning. ❤️

Because of YOU, we have been able to:

✅️ Raise over $6,600 USD towards our $10K summer goal;

✅️ Move closer towards hiring our first Program Coordinator;

✅️ Bring our 2025 Global Changemakers Virtual Exchange Program to a strong finish—facilitating 20+ hours of intercultural exchange between youth in the U.S. and Vietnam;

✅️ Distribute nearly 400 personalized care packages to children in two communities across the globe;

✅️ Witness 4 of our alumni go on to study abroad and/or start new nonprofit initiatives, spanning three continents;

… and more!

So, while we didn’t quite reach our $10K goal this summer, there’s no denying that the impact we’ve created together has given us so much to celebrate! 🌠🎉

We’d also like to send an extra-special thank you to our legacy match donor, Richard Ruwell; our dedicated board members; our program volunteers; and our incredible partner teachers and administrators, who have all truly made this work possible.

Over the coming weeks, we’ll be taking some time for quiet self-reflection, as we prepare for our next chapter.

Spreading Kindness Through Snacks: The Bright Bite Initiative 🍎🌟

Today, we’re so thrilled to share that our 2025 Global Changemakers have successfully implemented their community-based project, the Bright Bite Initiative, in Richmond, VA and Hue, Vietnam—delivering personalized snack packs to nearly 400 children in need! 🌍📦

From fun stickers to heartfelt conversations, youth from two continents came together to spread kindness, joy, and nourishment in their home communities—while simultaneously tackling global goals like SDG 2: Zero Hunger and SDG 3: Good Health & Well-Being.

Ultimately, by coming together online, our global youth ignited real change, offline, which is exactly what Learn2Link ’s programming is all about! 💻 🌠

We’re incredibly proud of the time, energy, and heart our Changemakers poured into this project, and we’re equally grateful to the L2L community for helping to make it all possible. ❤️
