President Tom Wolfe's message on the mass shooting in Boulder:

Dear Iliff Community:

I invite each of us to pause for a moment where you are, take a breath, and remember the victims of yesterday’s mass shooting in Boulder. Go ahead...take a moment (pause as you need)...Sadly, for the residents of our region, mass shootings are nothing new. And, this shooting comes in the immediate wake of the Georgia shooting. While we do not have a stated motivation named in yesterday’s event, we are reminded of the escalation of gun violence in our culture. Gun violence is dehumanizing. At Iliff we work to call forth and see the dignity of humanity in all of its expressions. So, perhaps this news has hit your own humanity with hurt, anxiety, despair, anger...this is your wonderful humanness speaking to you and reminding you of your own differentiating hope and vision for which you are willing to work. Thank you. Don’t forget to take care of yourself along the way...

It's not too late to join us for the Alumni & Journey Reunion on Tuesday, February 4, during Renewal 2020. The Reunion will be on Campus at 5pm and includes:
-Celebrating the 10-year anniversary of the Journey program with Dr. Vince Tango.
-Remarks about the origin of the Journey program and the evolution of online teaching and learning with Dr. Katherine and Dr. Albert Herendez!
-Overview of the findings from Dr. Tango’s doctoral research about building community in the Journey program!

Chapel on Tuesday, Feb 4 is going to look different. Dr. Eric Smith explains here:

"Early Christian worship was often centered on a shared meal, and only later transitioned into the kind of thing we would recognize today. Tuesday's worship is combined with lunch in a way that might have been recognizable to people like the ones Paul addresses in 1 Corinthians 11: a full meal, but structured as an informal liturgy so that the meal is itself a time for intentional community with one another and with the divine."
