Today, we remember the life and legacy of the Indian jurist and economist, Dr. Bhimrao Ramji “Babasaheb” Ambedkar, who drafted the Constitution of India. His efforts to end caste-based discrimination marks a watershed moment in the global fight for civil rights, justice, and equity. As Dr. Ambedkar declared, we must never relent in educating ourselves, agitating for our shared humanity, and organizing our communities until justice and equality reach all peoples of the world. His words, a call to action, remind us that our freedom is bound together.

At Colectivo de Paz, we carry forward this spirit of organizing, advocating, and building power for our communities. The fight for justice is far from over, but the legacy of those who came before us reminds us that change is possible when communities unite with purpose and courage.✊🏽

Are you interested in volunteering this Spring to support the communities of Denver? 🌼Join our Community Aid Resource Exchange (CARE) every other Saturday. If you would rather cook, come from Noon-2pm to cook in the Global Kitchen at the Community Commons at the University of Denver. Otherwise, you can come from 2-4pm that same day, meet at the Global Kitchen, and then we will take the food and other items out to the community. Whatever your strengths are, we can find a place for you! 🙌

We love our volunteers! 🎉

Looking for a way to support the Denver community? Join Colectivo De Paz and our Community Aid Resource Exchange (CARE), which meets every other Saturday from 12pm-2pm at the Global Kitchen Room 1400 in the Community Commons at the University of Denver! 🫶Volunteers will prepare meals and CARE packages to give out to the community. We also offer distribution times from 2pm-4pm, with carpooling included for volunteers.

Your efforts matter – be the change you want to see in the world and come volunteer with us! ⭐

Throwback to Advocacy Day! On Friday, February 27th, our 11 advocacy interns and community advocates went to the Colorado State Capitol for our Spring Advocacy Day 🏛️🗣️ They got to watch the House in session, spoke with representatives and senators as constituents, and had sit-down meetings with 4 legislators 🙌

They engaged with lawmakers, discussing the importance of a variety of bills including SB26-005 (Rights Violation in Immigrant Enforcement Remedy), HB26-1015(Homeless Contribution Tax Credit Extension), HB26-1044 (Improving Black Maternal Health Equity), and HB26-1029 (Student Representation on Higher Ed Commission)✨
