In a recent two-part workshop, our Therapeutic Thursday class explored Tetra Pak printmaking.

This is a sustainable and highly accessible form of intaglio (drypoint) printing that transforms recycled food and beverage cartons into printing plates. Artists draw, scratch, or peel away the carton's surfaces to hold ink, which is then pressed onto damp paper to create textured, one-of-a-kind artwork.

✏️ Therapeutic Thursday
Each week The Art Room offers a structured class on a therapeutic art topic to members--it's a wonderful opportunity to learn about the power of art. A sign-up opportunity is emailed to members weekly.

✏️ Open Studio (Fri. & Sat. + June 11 & 25)
Members are welcome at The Art Room to make their independent projects; we have an amazing selection of art supplies! Art and mental health volunteers are present to assist.

✏️ Arts for Veterans Program
Offering Veterans the regenerative and therapeutic power of art, through creative self-expression, artistic skill building, and connections. Art Room membership required.

✏️ Studio 416
Studio 416 is a semi-structured program created especially for adolescents, 9th through 12th grade. Art Room membership required. Learn about our summer programming: https://theartroomdenton.org/studio416

✏️ First Monday Makeshop
This members-only class focuses on instruction on a specific art practice taught by artists from our local community; past sessions have included printmaking, watercolor, sculpture, color theory, felting, and more. A sign-up opportunity is emailed to members in advance.

✏️ Fiber Arts Circle
The Fiber Arts Circle meets the third Monday of every month. Art Room Members and Volunteers are welcome to bring any project you have going (or want to start) to stitch and chat with us. All things fiber welcome: crochet, knitting, sewing, weaving, embroidery, needle felting, cross stitch, macrame, slow stitching, etc.
