You're invited! Save the date: Wednesday, Sept. 23, 5pm, is our dedication for our Community Art Project "Welcoming Spaces," and we'd love to see you there.

🖼️ We're unveiling the murals and community-painted plants and animals, plus many interactive elements, that we've installed to beautify the Denton County MHMR Center Child and Adolescent Center.

We won't hold a First Monday Makeshop this month--we look forward to seeing you at our next one in October!

We'll have our usual weekly Friday & Saturday Open Studio hours from 11-3:00. See you there!

We need you. ❤️ Will you help keep creativity accessible in Denton and ensure that The Art Room remains a place where people can create, connect, heal, and belong?

We are proud to be a safe, supportive studio environment for community members with mental health challenges to explore artistic expression and the development of artistic skills. 🧶🖼
✏️ Therapeutic Thursday
Each week The Art Room offers a structured class on a therapeutic art topic to members--it's a wonderful opportunity to learn about the power of art. A sign-up opportunity is emailed to members weekly.

✏️ Open Studio (Fri. & Sat. + Sept. 14 & 28)
Members are welcome at The Art Room to make their independent projects; we have an amazing selection of art supplies! Art and mental health volunteers are present to assist.

✏️ Arts for Veterans Program
Offering Veterans the regenerative and therapeutic power of art, through creative self-expression, artistic skill building, and connections. Art Room membership required.

✏️ Studio 416
Studio 416 is a semi-structured program created especially for adolescents, 9th through 12th grade. Art Room membership required.

✏️ Fiber Arts Circle
Now with more meetings! The Fiber Arts Circle meets the third *and fourth!* Monday of every month: join us September 21 & 28. Art Room Members and Volunteers are welcome to bring any project you're working on (or want to start) and stitch and chat with us. All things fiber welcome: crochet, knitting, sewing, weaving, embroidery, needle felting, cross stitch, macrame, slow stitching, etc.

👉 NOTE: We are closed Monday, Sept. 7, for the Labor Day holiday, and we will not hold First Monday Makeshop this month.

Twenty-five seats. One undisclosed home in Denton Texas. A five-course meal. A juried exhibition. Incredible people.

This October 15th, The Art Room is opening the doors to "Parlor"--an underground dinner experience and juried art exhibition unlike anything The Art Room Denton has hosted before. Chef Brad Green of F.A.M. is behind the menu. Keynote speaker Randall M. Good--the artist behind the ceilings you'll be dining under--will share the story of the room itself. And throughout the night, a juried collection of original art selected by UNT's Elaine Pawlowicz will be on view and available to take home.

This isn't a gala. It's a room full of people who show up to give.
