🦙🍀 4-H at the Farm Open House!

Denton County 4-H is building a new partnership with Goshen Meadows Farm, and we want our 4-H families to come check it out!

Join us Sunday, November 15, from 3:30–5:00 PM to meet the alpacas, explore the farm, ask questions, and learn about opportunities for 4-H members to connect their projects with experiences at Goshen Meadows.

🎬 Mark your calendars for SPARK 2026! 🍿

Texas 4-H members in 3rd–8th grade are invited to the Texas 4-H Center in Brownwood for a weekend of learning, leadership, new friends, and FUN! This year’s theme is “Night at the Movies,” hosted by the 2026–2027 Texas 4-H Council.

📅 November 13–15, 2026
📍 Texas 4-H Center | Brownwood, TX
💲 $175 per participant
⏰ Registration closes November 1

Adult chaperones are also needed! There is no cost to chaperone. Chaperones must be approved, registered Texas 4-H volunteers and will stay in the dorms with youth.

🦃 Thanksgiving Service Project
SPARK participants are encouraged to help create Thanksgiving Bags for the Brownwood Food Bank:
• 3rd–5th Grade: Bring canned, ready-to-eat meals such as chili, soup, ravioli, or canned mac & cheese.
• 6th–8th Grade: Bring cold-weather items such as winter hats, gloves, hand warmers, or hot cocoa packets.

You do not have to attend SPARK to donate! 4-H members, clubs, counties, and families are welcome to collect items locally and send them with a SPARK participant or ship them to the Texas 4-H Center by November 1.

Quality Counts Reminder for Livestock Exhibitors

Livestock show season is approaching! Families planning to exhibit livestock during the 2026–2027 show season are encouraged to check their Quality Counts certification now and complete or renew it if needed.

Quality Counts is required for all major livestock show exhibitors, and exhibitors must provide their Quality Counts verification number when submitting entries.

Exhibitors only need to complete Quality Counts once per grade-level division:

Junior: Grades 3–5

Intermediate: Grades 6–8

Senior: Grades 9–12

Youth who are new to livestock projects or have moved into a new grade-level division should make sure they complete the appropriate course before upcoming validation and show entry deadlines.

Don’t wait until entries are due! Completing Quality Counts early can help avoid last-minute issues during show registration.

Yesterday, Aislee Putman and Kaden Gordillo represented Denton County 4-H at the Texas Farm Bureau Speak Out for Agriculture (SOFA) contest!

Both did a great job representing our county and putting their knowledge of agriculture and communication skills to work.

We’re excited to share that Kaden advanced to the Sweet Sixteen and is competing again today!

Please join us in wishing Kaden good luck as he takes on the next round. We’re proud to have him representing Denton County 4-H! 🍀👏

Busy Saturday for Denton County 4-H! 🍀

James and Maven spent the day representing 4-H at the Garden & Nature Expo, working alongside the North Texas Groundwater Conservation District⁠ and sharing resources with the community.

Meanwhile, another group of our 4-H members and volunteers headed to the District IV Green Jacket Academy & Volunteer Conference for a day of learning, leadership, and connecting with others from across the district.

We love seeing our 4-H’ers out and about—learning, serving, and representing Denton County 4-H! 💚🍀
