We are MotherToBaby North Texas, part of Texas Teratogen Information Service, located at the University of North Texas in Denton. Our service provides free counseling and information to health care providers and the public regarding exposure during pregnancy and breastfeeding. We have the most up-to-date information available and we always provide timely, non-directive, and empathetic services, bo

th in English and Spanish. We have over 24 years of experience and will be happy to help you and you and your patients. We can answer questions about alcohol use, smoking, maternal illness and infections, street drugs, prescription medications, environmental exposures, over-the-counter medications, and paternal exposures, during pregnancy and lactation.

“Teratogens” are agents that may cause a miscarriage, birth defects, and/or learning problems. Common examples of teratogens are alcohol, smoking, street drugs, prescription and over-the-counter medications, some environmental agents, and some chemicals.
