The goal was never just housing.

Or childcare, or counseling, or groceries.

The goal was stability.

Because when a mom feels safe...she can heal.

When she can heal, she can build.

For many of the women who come to Blue Haven Ranch, so much energy has been spent simply surviving the next crisis. Stability creates space to think beyond today.

And when a mother has the support she needs to build a healthy, sustainable life, her children benefit too. They experience consistency, security, healthy relationships, and the freedom to simply be kids.

We hold one of the highest rates in the broader DFW area and well above the Texas average, which means thousands of local families are navigating the challenges of raising children with only one parent in the home.

For the women we serve at Blue Haven Ranch, single parenthood often begins long before a child is born. Many are facing an unplanned pregnancy, leaving an abusive relationship, escaping unsafe living situations, or trying to build stability with little support. They are stepping into one of life's most demanding roles while carrying burdens most of us were never meant to carry alone.

The statistics tell us that single-parent families are more likely to face financial hardship, housing instability, and barriers to education and employment.

But statistics only tell part of the story. What we also see every day is the incredible strength, resilience, and determination of mothers who are fighting for a better future for themselves and their children.

The need is real, and it's in our own backyard. No mother should have to walk this road alone.

Blue Haven Ranch exists for that very reason. We are committed to providing practical support for the entire family, life skills training, safe housing, supportive community, and hope for women who want to build a new future for their families.

A picture is worth a thousands words! 💙🐴 🥰

Lenny is a beloved part of our BHR farm. She and her mother were adopted from a rescue organization a few years ago, and she is a favorite to all on the farm. Animals like her provide a gentle presence that has been proven to help build trust, reduce stress, and create moments of connection.

As you can tell, we all love Lenny, and are so grateful for the love that she gives to all of us!

For single mothers, affordable and trustworthy childcare is non-negotiable. But with the cost of childcare these days, many of them are left with very few options that don’t take up more than a third of their entire income (and that's just to add their newborn).

This is why we care so deeply about walking alongside these moms well beyond the birth of their baby. We want to set them up for success, and taking this large expense off their plates is an impactful way that we can do that.

Farm therapy glimpses lately!

Our support group recently harvested onions from the garden and spent time preparing them for storage. There’s something special about watching hard work turn into something tangible!

We've had the privilege of serving several moms with older children who have special needs, and the animals have always been a highlight. Watching these children interact with and enjoy life on the farm is one of the many reminders of how meaningful this place can be.

A friend also found a lost baby goat, and they knew it would find a good home here on the farm. Since then, bottle-feeding this little one has become a favorite activity for many of our families!

We’re grateful for the simple ways God uses this place to bring joy, connection, and healing.

We’re grateful to have Ashley Leenerts from Texas Right to Life serving on the Blue Haven Ranch Board!

Baby O is ONE! 🐝🥳🎂💛

Milestones like these are worth celebrating for any little one, but we feel especially sentimental when this milestone rolls around because of the pride we have in her mama and all that she has accomplished in this year, too.

So much growth for her and her daughters, all of which we are rejoicing in today.

“When a woman is loved correctly, she becomes 10 times the woman she was before."

At Blue Haven Ranch, we know lasting change doesn’t happen overnight. The women who come through our program take brave, steady steps toward a different future for themselves and their children, and we are committed to walking with them through every high and low along the way.

Growth is rarely linear, but genuine love, truth, and support change people over time. Our prayer is that every woman here experiences all three with complete certainty.

It is an honor to witness their growth, remind them of their identity, and see God’s faithfulness unfold in their lives. 💙
