What an absolute power move at Denton Toastmasters last Monday evening.

If you happened to walk into our meeting on October 5th, you might have thought you accidentally stepped into a private Harrington family reunion. But make no mistake, this was official Toastmasters meeting, and the Harrington family did not come to mess around.

They showed up in full force. We are talking mothers, brothers, sisters, and friends. An entire row, practically an entire wing of the room, packed with supportive faces. Some people bring a notebook to Toastmasters. Some people bring a cup of coffee. The Harringtons brought an entire personal cheer section and a fierce determination to conquer every single stage of the meeting.

And conquer they did.

When it came time to hand out the awards at the end of the night, the ballot counter might as well have just called out one last name for the whole ribbon ceremony.

A clean, total, unprecedented sweep.

In the entire history of our club, we have seen incredible moments, but watching one family systematically lock down every single award in a single night was something truly special. They came to work on their public speaking skills, refine their presentation abilities, sharpen their leadership, build their self awareness, and overcome stage nervousness. They walked out with a clean sweep, empty ribbon racks, and the ultimate bragging rights at their next family dinner.

To the Harrington family, we salute your energy, your dedication, and your willingness to step up to the lectern together as a unit. You reminded all of us that growth is even better when it is a shared journey, and that public speaking is a team sport if you bring enough heart and practice.

To everyone else at Denton Toastmasters, consider the bar officially raised. If you want a ribbon next week, you might need to practice a little harder in the mirror, because the Harringtons have proven what happens when a family decides to master the stage together.

What a meeting we had on September 14!

Oscar took the stage and delivered a fantastic speech that inspired all of us, earning him Best Speaker of the Night.

Brad? Well, at this point, we may need to check if the Table Topics trophy has his name permanently engraved on it. He once again took Best Table Topics, making it three or four wins in a row!

And then we had Cheryl Spooner, our Best Evaluator, bringing nearly 10 years of Toastmasters experience and showing us exactly what a great evaluation looks like.

Three speakers, three different strengths, one unforgettable meeting.

If you have been thinking about joining Toastmasters, maybe this is your sign.

Come for the speeches, stay for the laughter, and leave with a little more confidence than you came with.

Something different is coming to Denton Toastmasters!

On September 28, we’re having a special Dynamic Workshop led by Tim Anderson. This will not be our usual Toastmasters meeting with prepared speeches, Table Topics, and evaluations. Instead, it will be a full, interactive workshop designed to help you learn, participate, practice, and get the most out of your Toastmasters experience.

Come ready to learn something new, connect with others, participate in the activities, and take advantage of the opportunity to grow your communication and leadership skills.

And yes, there will be snacks and water, with some food possibly being served too!

Whether you’re a longtime Toastmasters member, a new member, or someone who has been thinking about joining, this is a great opportunity to come, experience Toastmasters in a different way, and enjoy the session with us.

Mark your calendar for September 28. Bring your energy, your curiosity, and your willingness to participate.

Another great Toastmasters meeting in the books!

Big congratulations to our winners. Brad took Best Table Topics, proving that sometimes the best answers are the ones your brain invents in 10 seconds. Dominic earned Best Speaker, showing us what happens when confidence meets preparation. And Tim Anderson took Best Evaluator, reminding us that sometimes the person judging your speech is also the person helping you make the next one even better.

Our guest speaker also brought great energy and reminded us why we keep showing up: because confidence is not something you are simply born with. You build it, one speech, one conversation, and occasionally one awkward moment at a time.

If you want to speak with more confidence, think faster on your feet, communicate better, or simply stop saying “ummm” every three seconds, come join us.

You might arrive nervous. You might leave wondering why you waited so long.

Our last Toastmasters meeting was a wonderful opportunity to learn, speak, connect, and grow together.

From prepared speeches to Table Topics and constructive evaluations, every part of the meeting gave members a chance to strengthen their communication and leadership skills.

Thank you to everyone who participated, supported one another, and helped make the meeting a success. Your commitment and enthusiasm continue to make our Toastmasters community stronger.

We look forward to seeing everyone at our next meeting (07/09/2026 is a holiday, there is no meeting) and continuing this journey of growth together.

Congratulations to our outstanding members from Monday’s meeting.

Avery Harrington was recognized as Best Evaluator, Ian as Best Table Topics Speaker, and Byreddy as Best Speaker. Your participation, effort, and commitment made the meeting special.

We also proudly congratulate Mahamat Moussa on completing his Presentation Mastery Pathway from Level 1 to Level 5. About a year and a half ago, Mahamat joined Toastmasters as a beginner and struggled with public speaking. Today, he can confidently deliver 10 to 15 minute presentations using the skills and resources he has gained through Toastmasters.

His journey is a powerful reminder that growth comes through practice, courage, and consistency.

Another great Toastmasters meeting with a fresh setup and a warm, lively atmosphere. Even with a smaller group, the energy, encouragement, and great humor made it a memorable session.

A new room setup brought a fresh energy to the meeting and the room was full with more than 20 members and guests. Congratulations to our winners Ian for Prepared Speech, John for Table Topics, and Tim for Evaluation. Every meeting is a chance to grow, connect, and discover your voice. We would love to see you at our next meeting. Guests are welcomed and encouraged to participate in impromptu speeches (table topic). This is safest place to make mistakes and improve from there.
