I had an incredible experience in Maine this week, where I was honored to present at the Oweesta 11th Annual Convening. As a panelist on the Building Native Nation session, sponsored by the Wells Fargo Foundation. I shared insights on the challenges faced by Native communities and invited investors to join Wells Fargo Foundation in supporting Native-led nonprofits. By working together, we can empower these organizations to drive positive change and uplift our communities.

A huge thank you to Oweesta Corporation and Wells Fargo Foundation for investing in our vision to create hybrid homes and financial services that celebrate Diné culture and traditions! 🙏🏽🏠 Axhé’hee

It's been an exciting year collaborating with the our latest Nááts'íilid Initiative Sweat Equity family. Their story of resilience in the face of hardship and loss is a powerful reminder of the challenges many Diné families are facing. As the number of missing Diné relatives continues to grow, it's more important than ever to share stories like Tasheena's, brought to light by The Mellon Foundation. We're honored to be a part of this important work as a recipient of the Humanity In Place Award. Please read and share her story 🫶🏽

WALKING WITH DINÉTAH is a community art and trail walking initiative dedicated to co-creating strategies for cultural resilience and healing through spatialized oral histories, memory work, mapmaking, and participatory art—in other words, through Hózhó náhásdlíí’, or “walking in beauty.” .kassie

We are excited to reveal the cover for our upcoming book, “Monument Lab – Re:Generation” with coming in January 2026.

Beginning in 2022, we launched a nationwide field building initiative organized around a central question: Which stories belong in public? Edited by and Sue Mobley, Monument Lab –Re:Generation offers responses through creative and impactful local projects of reclamation that provide a deeper understanding of how monuments live and function in communities.

The book presents case studies that travel across America, highlighting local commemorative campaigns dedicated to advancing public memory. Featuring articles and artwork from the country’s leading monument makers, with a foreword from New York Times bestselling author Clint Smith.

“Monument Lab – Re:Generation” is now available for 📚pre-order at the link in bio.

We are looking for a structural and a civil engineer to work on our Sweat Equity Homes Project! Do you know one or are you one??

This is a paid opportunity (within a modest budget). We’d love to work with someone regional and Indigenous or Navajo but are open to anyone who would be a good fit and enjoy working with us! Interest and experience in wood construction, residential buildings, and natural building is also a huge plus. DM us, or email us at [email protected]. Ahéhee’!
