Denison, Texas — The Denison City Council on Monday night unanimously approved the Emergency Ambulance Service Franchise Agreement that authorizes US Mobile Healthcare (USMH) to serve as the official backup 911 emergency ambulance provider for the City of Denison.

Under the terms of the agreement, USMH will be called upon to support Denison Fire Department (DFD) during periods of high call volume, department training, or when additional EMS resources are needed.

The partnership will operate under the same shared medical direction, allowing for coordinated clinical protocols and ensuring seamless integration between USMH and DFD personnel. This structure strengthens the overall emergency medical response system in the City of Denison while maintaining continuity of care for patients in critical situations.

“We’re honored to support the City of Denison and stand alongside Denison Fire as a trusted partner in emergency care,” said Jim Reeves, Chief of US Mobile Healthcare. “With shared clinical oversight and operational coordination, we’re able to step in when needed and deliver care that meets the city’s high standards.”

US Mobile Healthcare is a licensed EMS provider serving Grayson County and providing disaster response nationwide. The company’s new role in Denison reflects the City's forward-thinking approach to public safety, ensuring additional EMS capacity is in place to support a growing population while upholding the high standard of emergency care Denison residents expect.

Meet the USMH Medical Director, Dr. Greg Keelen!

USMH EMT's & Paramedics are expected to know their Medical Director personally, far beyond just a name on a protocol book. That's why USMH is proud to be the first & only private EMS agency partnered with the superior, highly involved local medical direction team led by Dr. Greg Keelen! As part of our New Employee Orientation Program (NEOP) this week, employees spent time with Dr. Keelen and the Medical Direction team.

Dr. Keelen is the visionary founder and CEO of an esteemed team of local community-based physicians that deliver exceptional patient-centered care here in the Texoma region. With a remarkable career spanning over 35 years, Dr. Keelen has worked in various hospital departments and held diverse positions, gaining invaluable experience and insights into the healthcare system. Throughout his journey, he has actively served the community in various capacities, further deepening his understanding of its needs, currently continuing to serve our community as an ER physician locally in Grayson County.

Drawing upon his extensive background, Dr. Keelen has identified opportunities for improvement within the healthcare system, which drives his involvement in EMS Medical Direction. He firmly believes that the primary responsibility of a healthcare team is to provide the highest level of care to their patients and community. To achieve this, Dr. Keelen advocates for fostering a sense of unity among the local healthcare professionals, encouraging them to leverage their collective strengths and skills as one cohesive family to elevate healthcare in Grayson County and beyond.
