3 months today and it seems like yesterday. Definitely an adjustment to say the least. Trying to stay positive and encouraged. Quit my job. Taking time to regroup and hopefully start fresh, If that's even possible. I miss him more and more each day. I'm trying to talk to him, but it's soo hard. I will keep trying though. I've heard others say it helps. Also going to try journaling. A sweet friend of mine gave me that idea.

For me to live is Christ, and to die is gain Philippians 1:21

My brother not only believes these words but lived them. Friends and family, it is with mixed emotions of sorrow and expectant joy that I share with you our brother in Christ, DB Bishop, passed away this afternoon.

We stand on the words written to the Roman church by Paul so many years ago and we know that DB is now absent from his earthly body and is present with our Lord. In this we have joy but we who are still here mourn the loss of a husband, a father, a brother, an uncle, a grandfather, a godfather, a friend, a man who truly loved the Lord and loved living life with his family and friends.

I cannot at this time properly express with words the loss we feel nor can I articulate completely what DB meant to me and so many others.

Information will be shared regarding services for DB once arrangements are made. Please continue to lift up DB’s family in prayer. Thank you each and every one for the love and care you have shown to Mary and the Bishop family through this most difficult time. May God bless you and keep you!

Thank you Jehovah, our heavenly father. DB made it through the night. We were told yesterday he would be taken off life support on Friday, but he got sicker and then we were told he wasn't going to make it til morning. But GOD got him through. Ashley is flying in this morning. Praying and asking God to let us please have more time w him. Please, at least until Ashley can get here. See I prayed and asked God for specific, clear direction. He gave me that but now I'm just asking for a little more. I know Gods will is perfect even though I don't understand sometimes. But that I am sure of.

Like the Drs said, his condition changes rapidly. He's being intubated right now. I was allowed to stay w him until actual time to incert tube. I can go back in when he's all set up. Hopefully this will help him to rest and recover. That's their plan. We will keep trusting in God and his perfect plan, even if I don't understand.

DB tolerated dialysis through out the night. Big Praise to God bc they have been able to keep pulling fluid off. They did need to go up on bp meds, but it's ok. He is requiring more o2 right now also. Not sure if I mentioned b4 that he is in septic shock. They have him on the proper antibiotics now that they know the type of infection he has. So hopefully he will improve more and more. Drs said they are watching him like a hawk and making adjustments as needed. Thankful for great Drs and nurses. Thankful I am allowed to be here! Thankful for deodorant lol. But most especially thankful for YOU ALL, you keep us lifted up before our creator, great physician, mighty healer, our provider, Jehovah God, our heavenly father who gives me strength! We love you all! Not giving up hope, giving it all to God and his perfect will.

Family and friends, this is a very difficult post for me to write. I received word from Mary a few minutes ago regarding DB’s current condition. DB took a turn for the worse last night (early morning) and was moved to the ICU. At this time medical staff are saying there is nothing more they can do for DB and they have shifted their efforts to keeping him comfortable.

I know our God can miraculously cure DB if that is what He has planned. I also know that DB is confident of his future and eternity with Christ as am I. I would ask you to pray with me and DB’s family for God’s will in this time. Pray for peace and comfort for Mary and their children. I know for a fact DB firmly believes what Paul wrote in Philippians 1:21 as he shared this with me several times before. I also know that DB deeply loves his family and cherishes every moment he has with them. Ultimately, DB is in the hands of God and he is satisfied with whatever God decides for his life. DB told me this himself.

Although we all know and believe this, it is not easy to hear from the doctors there is nothing more that can be done. Please pray in the direction the Holy Spirit leads you. I will be praying with full confidence in God’s power and wisdom. Whether by miraculous physical healing or by eternal healing, I know I will see my brother again.

Specific prayer requests: DB is hurting really, really bad. It's his liver causing all this pain. Pain meds are not helping. He needs some relief. He is supposed to have a nuclear stress test Monday, this is the last test to finalize the evaluation. The transplant committee will meet Tuesday. We will find out then if he is a good candidate for the transplants. We're also supposed to meet with the social worker and the transplant coordinator Monday. Please pray for God's will. It is our desire that he gets a liver soon. So I'm really hoping that's what God has for him too.
