Thursday the 23rd was “See you at the Pole” where kids gathered together at schools across the Nation to pray before school began. This is a picture of the Flag Pole the Denham Springs Post 7017 donated to Foundation Academy Montessori School with the kids gathered around.

We put up the Missing Man Table at the Denham Springs Library yesterday. This table represents the many POW and MIA who are still missing. In Louisiana alone there are 1132.
965 from WWII, 142 from Korea, 24 from Vietnam, and 1 Cold War. If you know of a relative of yours that is missing, take the opportunity to go take a picture with this table and post it in the comments. Also in the comments I will attach the list of names we have from Louisiana. The table will only be up until the last day of September so make plans now to see it.

The Denham Springs VFW and Auxiliary held a vigil for MIA/POW day. This was held at the Train Gazebo in Denham Springs, where every name of the 1132 Louisiana service members that are MIA/POW was read as the bell was rung after each name and a rock placed in a vase representing which conflict they are missing from.

Friday evening, September 18th, the Denham Springs VFW and Auxiliary will be having its first vigil for the 1132 Louisiana men and women still listed as MIA or POW from WWII, Korea, Vietnam, and the Cold War. Each and every name will be called as a bell sounds. Bring your lawn chair and join us at the Train Gazebo. The names will begin to be read at 6:30.

Today was officially “Italian Lunch Day” for the guys at Magnolia Veterans Home as the Denham Springs Auxiliary and VFW served an amazing lunch furnished by Randazzo’s Italian Market. The guys enjoyed a salad, lasagna, meatballs, bread sticks, and Italian lemon cake, while listening to a background of Italian music while dining.
We want to say a big “ Thank You” to Randazzo’s for helping the Auxiliary and VFW by furnishing this delicious meal for our Veterans.

Our meetings are the second Tuesday of each month at 1:00. If your husband is in the VFW, you definitely need to come join us, but there are other ways to qualify. If your spouse, parent, sibling, or grandparent served in a Foreign War, call Kenna at 225-916-7158 or Debbie at 225-333-2790 to see what it takes to become a member.
