Let's get a jumpstart on 2026-2027 Patriot's Pen & Voice of Democracy Contest. Both have the same topic as one another New VOD and Patriot's Pen topics for the 2026-2027 year!!“What a Veteran Taught Me About America." The following are links for forms. Start promoting now so the students have plenty of time to work on it.

We are counting down the National winners of our three art contests starting on Friday, August 1. Each day from August 1-August 8, we will share three National award winning works from the Young American Creative Patriotic Art Contest, 3-Dimensional Patriotic Art Contest and Illustrating America, and on August 9 we will conclude with the National first-place winners of both the Young American Creative Patriotic Art Contest and 3-Dimensional Patriotic Art Contest.

As always, we remind visitors to our Facebook and Instagram pages to remember that these works of art were created by talented students in grades K-12. Saturday, Auxiliaries of Baton Rouge, Baker, and Denham Springs hosted an Ice Cream Social at Jackson War Vet Home to celebrate Easter a little early. A great time was had by all!

We had such a great time at the Christmas Party District 8 put on for the Veterans at Jackson Veterans home.
We really appreciate all those who helped and a special shout out to Mary Marcantel Ballard and the Kingdom Warriors!

With November almost over and December quickly approaching we just want to give a shout out to all who helped with Veterans Day events throughout Denham Springs and Walker areas, from helping while the Veterans read to kids at schools, preschools, and story hour at the library, Buddy Poppy Events at local stores, to events at several local Nursing Homes.
We had great participation in our Americanism Events with more than 12 schools and almost 1000 students participating. These awards will be given in April.
