Celebrating America 250! We enjoyed hearing historic community, military and family stories, including a tale of a member's own Civil War cemetery and a member's Pilgrim ancestry. All interesting stories of people who built America.
This was our President's last meeting before she moves to Texas. Thank you Terry for your service! You will be missed!

Margo Campbell welcomed Jeff Wesley of LSU National Center for Biomedical Research; Law Enforcement Prevention and Deterrence of Terrorist Acts; Denham Springs City Councilman, to our February meeting. We were captivated by his knowledge of and expertise in these topics. He also shared with us several new projects coming to Denham Springs. Thank you, Jeff Wesley! We also welcomed Trudy Dupuy of Geaux Seven Chapter of Blue Star Mothers of America accepting our donations to service men and women deployed around the globe. Wow! What a meeting!
Hope to see you on March 2nd when we celebrate AMERICA 250!

~We hope you can make our next meeting on Monday, February 2, at the Denham Springs Walker branch library at 10 AM.
This is an important meeting because it is the day we bring donations to our Blue Star Moms. Attached you will find a list of items that they request. They ALSO take monetary donations. We are so honored to support them for their work to support the sons and daughters serving to protect our country.
~We also have an exciting guest speaker!
Jeff Wesley, former Denham Springs Police Chief, Councilman and current counter terrorism instructor for LSU National Center for Biomedical Research and Training (NCBRT) will be our guest speaker. He will present information about what heโ€™s doing to make schools safer here and around the country as well as safety for the public at home and around the world. If time permits, he will touch on current events in Denham Springs and answer questions.
~Also, please mark your calendars for our special meeting March 2nd. We will celebrate โ€œAmerica 250โ€! ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ
You are invited to share a special story [3 - 5 minutes] about your family or ancestors and their story about making America great. You may also bring a poster, photographs or articles, a short slideshow, or mementoes or artifacts to be displayed on tables.
Please feel free to ask any questions at next week's meeting.
Stay safe and warm during these cold days! We hope to see you on February 2! โ„๏ธโ˜ƒ๏ธโ„๏ธ
