We made our own desserts for craft time this week! Amedysis Healthcare provided all the fixings for individual Strawberry Shortcakes so each person got to build his own...only bad part was we had to save them for lunch!!😁
Also we had a really fun activity we've never played before called a Human Slot Machine! With the help of some of our kiddos that were visiting it was a big success!!🎰 We also made Get Well cards for one of our Volunteers that is out for a few weeks.
After lunch we welcomed back one of our favorite guests---Elvis was in the house!! He always puts on a great show!🎶
Next week we will be getting ready for our community wide Senior Citizen's Prom on Thursday, June 25th, 4PM - 7PM at First Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, Demopolis, AL. Music, finger foods, Glamor Shots if you want and just alot of fun! There is NO COST, just RSVP by Monday, June 22nd via Text/Call to Bambi Hamilton @ 334-422-5054. Bring your dancing shoes OR just come for the fun and fellowship! Hope to see you there!

TFTD: Be like a sunflower...Know your roots...Rise, shine and hold your head up high...Bloom with resilience...Reach for the sky...Be bright, sunny and positive...Keep on growing...Spread seeds of kindness...Even on the darkest days, stand tall and find the sunlight!
What a beautiful analogy! Strive to be your best every day with a grateful heart!
Some days we have the best times just bringing out our "inner child"! 😁 And this was one of those days! What can you do with a shower cap, shaving cream and a cup full of little marshmallows?? You have a FUN time!! Shower cap on, a pile of shaving cream on top and your partners throwing marshmallows trying to hit your head!! Whoever has the most marshmallows stuck on their head wins!🤣 Another fun thing we did was play Whack-a-Mole! Thankfully we had plenty of kids helping to be the moles!!
We have been so blessed this year with entertainment..Mr. Clifford McPeek, sponsored by the Black Belt Community Foundation, played some of the best jazz pieces on trumpet! He is a very talented musician and we certainly hope he will play for us again!

We were so happy to be back at SALT after missing last week! A big thank-you to Legacy Hospice for bringing vegetable, herb, and flower seeds for everyone to plant. Who knew we had so many little gardeners among us? 🌱😁
We had a fun-filled day playing Anything Goes, The Name Game, and, of course, everyone's favorite—Noodleball!
Lunch was absolutely delicious, thanks to Gran's Food Truck. We enjoyed quesadillas, chicken salad sandwiches, and chicken and pasta salad plates. Y'all need to check out Gran's Food Truck on Facebook to see her weekly menu and locations. The food is always amazing!
Our entertainment was a true blessing. We were delighted to welcome Thomaston's own Mitzi Gates, who shared her beautiful voice and wonderful personality with us. She is such a talented performer and truly has a voice like an angel!
If this sounds like a program you, a friend, or a loved one would enjoy, please contact Bambi Hamilton at 334-422-5054. SALT is a non-denominational respite ministry that meets every Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at FUMC Demopolis.
We'd love to have you join us!

Spring has sprung at SALT!🌷 Amedysis Home Health brought a ton of beautiful fresh flowers and the cutest vases for everyone to make their own bouquets! Thank you Lori!
Chair aerobics, Mystery Box and Charades; it was a fun day! And we were blessed to welcome the men's choral group from First Baptist church, Demopolis who sang some great songs and were accompanied by Mickie McAlpine on piano. We hope they come back again! After lunch we even got the men to play Charades with us!!
