TFTD: YOU may be the only Bible someone reads!❤️

Aveanna Home Health and Hospice brought supplies this week for everyone to make their own fall wreath and boy our people did not disappoint!! They were all so colorful and really turned out beautiful! Thank you Claire and Palmer!
Everyone also got really creative with a fall poem challenge. Teams of 2-3 were given a packet of words on small pieces of paper and their challenge was to create a fall poem out of those words. Wow...that was amazing!!
We were also very honored to welcome Taylor Kennedy from Meridian, MS with PHI Air Medical. PHI is an active air ambulance service based at Meridian Regional Airport and serves East Mississippi and West Alabama. Taylor gave us some great information on the service and stressed how important this service is if you are ever faced with having to be airlifted to another hospital, especially with a life threatening illness or emergency. We really appreciated her enlightening us all.
We do so many fun things at SALT but we also learn ways to help us in our everyday life at home and also light movement exercises to help keep us active.

💜 SALT Thursdays are always so much fun! 💜
The fellowship, laughter, games, crafts, music, and of course, good food all come together to make each Thursday a special day! We are so grateful for the wonderful people who help make SALT such a joyful place to be.
A heartfelt thank you to Fairhaven Baptist Church for providing a delicious meal, and a special thank you to our own Vicki Wilson for her absolutely delicious banana pudding! 🍌🍮
We also want to give a big THANK YOU to Tim Hall from First Baptist Church for sharing his wonderful storytelling and music with us. 🎶📖 Your time and talent brought so much joy to our day!

TFTD: You will never find a rainbow if you are looking down!🌈

We started our day with a fun craft project brought to us by SouCare Hospice. "Twisted Trees" turned out really cute.... thanks Jesi! Then chair aerobics by Becky Jordan who we were SO grateful for to come up with a program at the last minute due to an unexpected illness!
After a great lunch prepared by one of our Volunteers, Dorothy, and dessert by another Volunteer, Vickie, a few of us participated in a couple of Left brain/ Right brain activities which was fun but really eye opening!
We were also so blessed to welcome back one of our favorites, Tyler Sellers! Tyler is a very talented and entertaining performer!🎶 We hope he comes back again soon!

What a great reminder... BE THE EXAMPLE!!
Thank you Amedysis Home Health for supplying and helping us paint some pretty puff paint pumpkins this week! A little less "puffy" but still really pretty! 😁🎃
After a very delicious lunch by our lunch ladies and meat prepared by volunteer Jane Watson, we commemorated 9-11 by recalling where we were that exact moment when we learned of the attacks, how we felt in those moments, what our first thoughts were and how we thought that time changed our country... Together, our stories helped us remember not only what happened, but how our country and especially our communities came together in the aftermath! God Bless America🇺🇸

We had a wonderful day at SALT this week! We had several visitors from Joyful Connections out of Brandon, MS. They are a respite group like SALT. Being a new group, they came to observe our program and they were alot of fun!
Jenny Miller from Legacy Hospice brought supplies for a "Popsicle Quilt". Not actually a real quilt but individual painted popsicle sticks put together and added to a board to look like a real quilt! Very creative!
We also had a delicious lunch which was mostly provided by the Pairs and Spares Sunday School class at FUMC Demopolis. Thank y'all so much! After lunch we celebrated two more August birthdays by showering them with wonderful compliments!☺️
Linde McAdams entertained us playing guitar and singing folk and bluegrass songs! Such a funny and talented lady!😄
Also we were so happy to welcome Rhae Darsey from Demopolis who was very instrumental in applying for project grants from Main Street Alabama to help start Main Street Demopolis, along with local support to revitalize and preserve our historic district, promote economic growth and support local businesses. Also to bring new businesses into our town. Rhae brought a slideshow showing the progress that has been made since it's establishment in 2022. We can't wait to see the continuing progress for our town! Thank you Rhae for such a wonderful presentation!

✈️ SALT Celebrates National Aviation & Travel Week! 🌎
SALT kicked off National Aviation & Travel Week with a fun-filled day of travel, creativity, and adventure! ✈️🌍
A huge thank-you to Southern Care Hospice for providing the airplanes for us to paint and decorate. Our creativity was definitely flying high! 🎨✈️
We then played “Guess the Destination”, traveling around the world through a slideshow featuring popular destinations. 🌴🏔️🗼
Becky Jordan got us moving with our movement segment, and Joy shared a beautiful devotion to help make our day even more meaningful. ❤️
After a delicious lunch, each table became its own airline! The groups created airline names, mottos, signature snacks, and even some hilarious in-flight announcements. ✈️😂 We certainly had some future airline executives in the making!
We ended our wonderful day with a great sing-along led by Catherine. 🎶❤️
What a fantastic day at SALT! We are so grateful for everyone who helped make it special.

TFTD: Alone we can do little; together we can do so much!

This week we completed a community service project for Bigbee Humane Society with the help of Aveanna Healthcare. SALT volunteers brought a few items such as leashes, food, toys, etc. Aveanna also brought food and supplies to help make dog toys out of stripes of fabric from tshirts that we braided and also wrapped tshirt fabric around empty water bottles for toys! We had a great time and it was for a much needed service!🐶🐱
We always enjoy our day playing different games, chair aerobics, entertainment, a good lunch and ALWAYS great fellowship with alot of laughs!
