TFTD: Always have a character like SALT. Its presence may not be noticed, but its absence makes everything seem a little tasteless!
We were so happy to be back at SALT after missing last week! A big thank-you to Legacy Hospice for bringing vegetable, herb, and flower seeds for everyone to plant. Who knew we had so many little gardeners among us? 🌱😁
We had a fun-filled day playing Anything Goes, The Name Game, and, of course, everyone's favorite—Noodleball!
Lunch was absolutely delicious, thanks to Gran's Food Truck. We enjoyed quesadillas, chicken salad sandwiches, and chicken and pasta salad plates. Y'all need to check out Gran's Food Truck on Facebook to see her weekly menu and locations. The food is always amazing!
Our entertainment was a true blessing. We were delighted to welcome Thomaston's own Mitzi Gates, who shared her beautiful voice and wonderful personality with us. She is such a talented performer and truly has a voice like an angel!
If this sounds like a program you, a friend, or a loved one would enjoy, please contact Bambi Hamilton at 334-422-5054. SALT is a non-denominational respite ministry that meets every Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at FUMC Demopolis.
We'd love to have you join us!

Spring has sprung at SALT!🌷 Amedysis Home Health brought a ton of beautiful fresh flowers and the cutest vases for everyone to make their own bouquets! Thank you Lori!
Chair aerobics, Mystery Box and Charades; it was a fun day! And we were blessed to welcome the men's choral group from First Baptist church, Demopolis who sang some great songs and were accompanied by Mickie McAlpine on piano. We hope they come back again! After lunch we even got the men to play Charades with us!!

What beautiful and meaningful words as we celebrated Mother’s Day a little early at SALT this past Thursday! Everyone brought pictures of their mothers, and we had so much fun guessing which mom belonged to whom! 😁 We also shared special memories and stories about our precious moms. ❤️
We enjoyed a fun game of Bingo with Aveanna Healthcare, and they generously brought packaged goodies for everyone to take home. Thank you, Aveanna!
A huge thank you as well to our fabulous kitchen crew for preparing a delicious taco salad in honor of Cinco de Mayo 🪇🌮 — it was a big hit!
We were also blessed to have Dr. Bonnie Rice join us for a wonderful piano sing-along. 🎹 Thank you, Dr. Bonnie — we always enjoy your visits and the joy you bring!
If you’re looking for fellowship, laughter, and a wonderful community, come check us out on Thursdays from 10:00–2:00 at FUMC Demopolis. We truly have the BEST time together!

We were Running for the Roses at SALT last week, celebrating the Kentucky Derby! Our program was decked out, serving up Mock Juleps, KY Hot Browns, and lots of fun!! Two Chicks and a Feather supplied the Fasinators that were on displayed and Kayla and Kimberly from Timberland Health Care (formally Arabella) helped us design our 20 horses🐎 for the big race!! Pastor John entertained us with songs of his Canadian and Irish youth.🎶 THANK YOU!
We always have so much fun packed into those four hours on Thursdays! If you would like more information about the SALT program, please call or text Bambi Hamilton at 334 422-5054.

Maybe it isn't the first hour of the day but SALT does set the tone for us for the day and we just have the best time! Jenny with Legacy Hospice brought supplies to make cute jewelry boxes and again the creativity is amazing! Thanks Jenny!!
We had fun playing the Price is Right guessing prices from the 1970s! And for lunch we enjoyed a delicious roast beef furnished by the Sunday School class of Jennifer Pruett...thanks so much!! After lunch a few members of the Demopolis Pilot Club came and presented their BrainMinders puppet show that teaches important ways we can prevent brain injuries and focusing on safety in our homes especially. These are great tips for everyone, young and old.
We also had the pleasure of Charlie Wilson entertaining us playing guitar, harmonica and singing. Charlie always has a few entertaining stories he shares along with his music!!😁
We would love to tell you about our SALT program...please give Bambi Hamilton a call at 334-422-5054.

SouCare Hospice provided our craft this week, which turned out SO pretty! We took clear glass salad plates and mod podged a beautiful napkin on the back that showed through the front of the plate - really nice project! Thanks Jesi!
Who Am I, Don't Burst My Bubble, Link the Words and Noodleball filled our day. And we were blessed to have Jason Irvin come again and entertain us playing guitar and singing! Always a pleasure!
Thank you to Fairhaven Baptist Church for providing us with a delicious lunch!
SALT meets Thursdays from 10 to 2 at FUMC Demopolis. We would love to have you visit us to see what we do or if you would like to join us as a volunteer, we would love to have you! For more information, please call Bambi Hamilton at 334-422-5054.
