CREATING AWARENESS:
It was “networking” at its best — Bart McCorquodale of the ASHS Foundation Board of Directors hosting a reception at his home in Jackson to familiarize those in his personal and business circles with the Alabama School of Healthcare Sciences and the opportunities to support it.

Bart’s deep roots in and passion for the Black Belt is what brought him to the Foundation board, as well as his business leadership as founder and CEO of McCorquodale Transfer LLC, one of Alabama’s fastest-growing transportation and logistics companies.

He was joined in his presentation by Kirk Stephens, Board president, who also serves on the school’s governing state Board of Trustees; Scott Huffman, Foundation president and CEO; and Rob Pearson, Vice President of Strategic Partnerships for the Foundation.

The ASHS Foundation treasures our partnership with Alabama Power and the Alabama Power Foundation and enjoyed showing their team around the construction site!

🏗️ We're incredibly grateful for the ways Alabama Power and the Alabama Power Foundation continue to invest in the future of our state and the Alabama School of Healthcare Sciences.

Last week, members of the Alabama Power team, including Jill Stork, Joseph Brown and Diane Brooker were on-site with the ASHS Foundation to support construction and operations of the new residential high school being built in Demopolis.

🙏🏼We couldn’t be more thankful for their partnership.

🔹 It was an evening to remember in Demopolis.

The ASHS Foundation was proud to welcome community leaders, partners, and friends for a special inside look at the Alabama School of Healthcare Sciences — and the response was nothing short of inspiring.

The Demopolis community continues to show up in a big way.

Attendees heard firsthand updates on construction progress and got a preview of what’s ahead through new renderings that brought the future campus to life. They also heard from Dean of Curriculum Laura Eves Bailey, who shared how ASHS will deliver a rigorous academic experience while preparing students for real-world healthcare careers through innovative pathways and workforce-focused training with healthcare partners, including Whitfield Regional Hospital.

But more than anything, the evening was about connection.

It was about strengthening the bond between ASHS and the Demopolis community that believed in this vision from the very beginning and continues to invest in it.

Your enthusiasm, your presence, and your support are helping build something truly transformational, not just for this region, but for a across Alabama.

We are deeply grateful.

Special thanks to Strother Design and Growin' Advertising for hosting such a welcoming and memorable evening.
