Week Three of our 𝗧𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 series is dedicated to the Brooker/Thomasson family!

𝗖𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗕𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗲𝗿 𝗝𝗿., a 1956 graduate of DHS, suited up for the Tigers at halfback. Years later, 𝗝𝗼𝗵𝗻𝗻𝘆 𝗕𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗲𝗿 continued the family tradition as a fullback, linebacker, and place kicker for the Tigers before graduating in 1978. His football career didn’t end at DHS—Johnny went on to punt and kick for the Crimson Tide at the University of Alabama.

Today, that Tiger tradition continues with 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘄 𝗧𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗻. A junior at DHS, Matthew currently serves as a punter and kicker for the Tigers.

And there’s another future Tiger waiting for his turn! 𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗺 𝗧𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗻, a second grader, already has plans of his own—to one day take the field as a kicker for the Demopolis Tigers!

From Tigers who took the field decades ago, to a Tiger carrying on the tradition today, to the next generation already dreaming of his turn—𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗧𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁.

It’s more than a football program. 𝗜𝘁’𝘀 𝗮 𝗳𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. 𝗜𝘁’𝘀 𝗮 𝗧𝗜𝗚𝗘𝗥 𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗗𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡!

Week Two of our 𝗧𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 series is dedicated to the Bright/Jones family!

𝗛𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗶𝘀 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁, a 2014 graduate of DHS, suited up for the Tigers at nose guard and defensive tackle. His commitment to Demopolis football didn’t end when his playing days did. For the past seven years, Hollis has continued giving back to the program by coaching in the Demopolis Youth Football League.

Today, the family tradition continues with Hollis’ cousin, 𝗗𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗝𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝗜𝗜𝗜. A sophomore at DHS, Demoes plays right tackle and defensive end for the Tigers.

And there’s another Tiger coming up through the ranks! Hollis’ son, 𝗖𝗮𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻 𝗟𝗲𝘄𝗶𝘀, is already carrying on the tradition as a linebacker and running back for Demopolis Youth Football. We look forward to watching him continue his journey and one day take the field for DHS!

From playing under the Friday night lights, to coaching the next generation, to watching family members carry on the legacy—𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗧𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁.

It’s more than a football program. 𝗜𝘁’𝘀 𝗮 𝗳𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. 𝗜𝘁’𝘀 𝗮 𝗧𝗜𝗚𝗘𝗥 𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗗𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡!
