Peña III “MoMo”, and continually strive to improve to better serve those in need. Rockin The Streets is a non-profit organization that was established in 2009 in memory of Ramon A. MoMo was a young man, who tragically passed away at the age of 18. His vehicle struck a stray horse on a completely dark road while returning home from assisting his sister with a flat tire. MoMo was the type of person
who helped anyone and everyone. He always waved and shook hands with everyone whether he knew them or not. MoMo worked for his father at Ramon’s Towing, and “most” of the time never charged, with a smile on his face and out of the kindness of his heart. After MoMo’s passing and still to date many people share with us, his family, their memories of how kind, courteous, and respectful MoMo was with them and how he would help them.
“Rockin The Streets” was to be the name of a truck club that MoMo wanted to form. He began the process of the club and designed the logo. Unfortunately, MoMo passed away before the club initiated. MoMo’s uncle “Tio Victor” and aunt “Tia Bennita” along with family members, in memory of MoMo, picked up Rockin The Streets, and developed it to what is now known as Rockin The Streets Foundation (RTS). Every year in September, Rockin The Streets hosts a Bike Run. The Bike Run has grown each year in size, having a total of over 475 participants. It draws many people from California, New York, Chicago, Texas, Arizona, and New Mexico. All the proceeds from the RTS bike run go to scholarships and to assist children with medical expenses, other charities and needs in the community. Many graduates of Deming High School have benefited from scholarships in the amount of $500.00 each. This year Rockin The Streets Bike Run will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025.
