It's a shame there are people out there that are as misinformed as the UC Berkeley graduate student mentioned in the post. Sadly, Mimbres Peaks National Monument proponents are just as misinformed and choose to ignore this type of information.
A UC Berkeley graduate student made quite the splash on social media this week. Jackson Kernion, a philosophy instructor, took to twitter to bash "rural Americans".
"I unironically(sic) embrace the bashing of rural Americans," Kernion wrote in a now-deleted tweet. "They, as a group, are bad people who have made bad life decisions...and we should shame people who aren't pro-city."
All we can type is 'LOL'. Mr. Kernion, you may not know, but the rural Americans that you are tweeting about are the lifeblood of this country; especially our ranchers. We feed a hungry world. We provide a the raw materials needed to craft many of the items you use in your daily life. Our livestock actively assist in the sequestration of carbon (much of which is emitted by a city like yours).
The tweet has since been deleted. It makes us wonder, did someone tell Mr. Kernion about the benefits that come from rural Americans?
