We had the absolute best time attending the 2026 Summer Reading Program kickoff event at the Thomas Branigan Memorial Library! It was incredible to see so many families and young readers excited to dive into books this summer.

A major highlight of the day was getting to hang out with Rex and Friends!

A huge thank you to the staff at Friends of Thomas Branigan Memorial Library and Las Cruces Public Libraries for putting together such a wonderful, welcoming event for our local community. We are already looking forward to a summer packed with great stories!

Our Shelter Shelves Are Running Low!

When survivors flee domestic violence and come to our emergency shelter, they often arrive with nothing but the clothes on their backs. Providing them with a safe environment means ensuring their most basic daily needs are met from the moment they walk through our doors.

Right now, we are facing an urgent shortage of essential hygiene items and cleaning supplies for the families staying in our shelter.

We need your immediate help to restock these everyday essentials:
Shampoo
Conditioner
Body Wash
Cleaning Products (disinfectant sprays, laundry detergent, dish soap, multi-surface cleaners)

How You Can Help Today:
Drop Off Donations: You can bring these items directly to our offices.
Las Cruces: 800 S Walnut St.
Anthony: 25 First Street
Deming: 522 W. Pine Street

Spread the Word: Share this post with your friends, family, and co-workers. A quick share helps us reach community members who are ready to give.

Every single bottle of shampoo and canister of disinfectant helps us provide dignity, comfort, and a clean, safe environment for survivors as they begin to heal.

Thank you for standing with our shelter residents during their time of greatest need!

Did you know that worldwide, men who are exposed to domestic violence as children are 3 to 4 times more likely to perpetuate intimate partner violence as adults?

This powerful statistic shows that domestic violence is often a learned behavior passed down through generations. To create a safer future, we must break this cycle early by teaching young people what healthy, respectful relationships look like.

At La Casa, Inc., we are committed to prevention through community education. We offer incredible programs like Coaching Boys into Men, which equips athletic coaches with the tools to teach young male athletes about respect, integrity, and non-violence. By reaching young men through mentors they trust, we can change the culture from the ground up.

Partner With Us for Prevention:
We want to bring these vital conversations to your school, business, faith community, or local organization.

Community Presentations: Our team is available to speak to groups of all sizes about healthy relationships, red flags, and how to support survivors.

Community Tabling: We love bringing resources directly to the public. Invite us to table at your upcoming community events, health fairs, or local gatherings.

Education is the most powerful tool we have to stop domestic violence before it even begins.

Please share this post so local educators, coaches, and event organizers know that these free educational resources are available in our community.

For many survivors, finding safety means leaving behind everything they know. According to research from Safe Housing Partnerships, an alarming 57% of all women experiencing homelessness stated that domestic violence was the primary cause of their housing instability.

When home is no longer safe, the risk of homelessness becomes an immediate reality. No one should ever have to choose between a violent situation and having a roof over their head.

This statistic underscores exactly why the emergency shelter, transitional housing, and comprehensive support services at La Casa, Inc. are so vital. When we provide a safe place to land, we aren't just offering a bed for the night, we are breaking the cycle of violence and preventing homelessness before it begins.

Your continued donations, advocacy, and support allow us to keep our doors open 24/7 for families who need a fresh start and a secure place to rebuild their lives.

Please share this post to help raise awareness about the deep connection between domestic violence and housing security. The more people understand the challenges survivors face, the stronger our community support becomes.

May is National Supervised Visitation Awareness Month 🧡

When there are concerns for a child’s safety or well-being, Supervised Visitation ensures that a child is able to maintain contact with a parent in a safe, conflict-free environment while issues are being resolved. This May, we celebrate National Supervised Visitation Awareness Month by raising awareness for families and children in high-risk situations who rely on supported, professional supervised visitation services.

Our Visitation Center & Growing Impact
The La Casa Supervised Visitation program began in 2023, and the doors to our new, dedicated La Casa Visitation Center opened on July 1. Thanks to strong community collaborations, our program has quickly grown and established itself as a vital local resource.
