Yup!

When public schools are weakened, defunded, privatized, or picked apart piece by piece, MOST kids are not magically handed a better option.
They are handed whatever is left.
A school they may not be able to get into.
A tuition bill their family cannot cover.
A bus route that does not exist.
A “choice” that only works for families with time, money, transportation, flexibility, and luck.

That is not a public education system.

That is taxpayers funding someone else’s gatekeeping.

We know. Public school is not perfect. Nobody is saying it is. How could it possibly be when it’s been under attack for decades?
But public school is the one system built around the promise that every child gets a seat.

Not just the easiest kids to educate. Not just the kids whose parents can drive across town. Not just the kids whose families can pay the difference. Not just the kids who fit a private school’s beliefs, admissions standards, disability capacity, or behavior expectations.

Every child. How can we give up on that promise?

And once it is gone, the people who helped destroy it will still call the wreckage “choice.” But what will the rest of us do?

Be sure to vote on August 18th, 2026 for Brevard School Board candidates that support PUBLIC Schools...not the taxpayer funds to developers' bank account pipeline.
